In this role, you will contribute to the development of next-generation high-performance discrete GPU platforms, focusing on advanced thermal and acoustic optimization across cutting-edge hardware systems. You will be part of a specialized engineering team responsible for ensuring thermal stability, performance efficiency, and system reliability across GPU cards and platform-level architectures. The position involves designing, simulating, and validating thermal management strategies that directly impact product performance and scalability in high-volume production environments. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including firmware, hardware, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of thermal solutions. This is a highly technical and innovation-driven role where your expertise will help shape industry-leading cooling and fan control technologies. You will also engage with external partners and customers to support platform design requirements and ensure real-world performance alignment. The environment is global, fast-paced, and focused on pushing the boundaries of GPU thermal engineering.

Accountabilities:

  • Architect, simulate, and validate thermal management systems and fan control strategies for high-performance discrete GPU products.
  • Design and optimize thermal solutions at both component and system levels for GPU cards and computing platforms.
  • Influence cross-functional teams (firmware, software, hardware, and driver engineering) to ensure thermal and acoustic performance requirements are met.
  • Develop and refine thermal management architectures, ensuring effective integration across mechanical, electrical, and system-level designs.
  • Conduct thermal analysis, debugging, and validation to ensure product reliability and performance under varying workloads.
  • Collaborate with system engineering, program management, and external partners (OEM/ODM) to support design execution and product delivery.
  • Document technical findings, simulation results, and design recommendations for internal stakeholders and leadership teams.
  • Stay current with industry advancements in thermal technologies and explore innovative cooling solutions for next-generation products.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
    • 3+ years of experience in heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics applied to engineering systems.
    • 3+ years of experience in thermal analysis, debugging, and performance validation.
    • Strong understanding of heat sink design and thermal mechanical solutions in high-performance computing or PC environments.
    • Experience testing air-cooled and/or liquid-cooled thermal systems for electronic devices.
    • Familiarity with trade-offs between thermal performance and mechanical, electrical, or system constraints.
    • Hands-on experience with thermal simulation tools such as Icepak, Flotherm, or equivalent.
    • Experience working with GPU, PCIe, OAM, or server/desktop hardware form factors is an asset.
    • Proficiency in 3D modeling tools such as Creo, ProE, or SolidWorks is considered a strong advantage.
    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly document and present technical concepts.
    • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global, multidisciplinary engineering teams.
