This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Engineer - Hardware based in India.
In this role, you will take a senior technical leadership position in the design and development of advanced digital electronic hardware systems that support next-generation aerospace and defense technologies. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end hardware development, from requirements definition and schematic design through validation, testing, and production deployment. The position involves working on complex, safety-critical systems that demand high reliability, precision, and adherence to aerospace standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional global engineering teams to deliver innovative circuit designs and high-performance electronic assemblies. This role provides the opportunity to work on high-speed digital architectures, advanced interfaces, and cutting-edge embedded hardware systems. You will also play a key role in ensuring design robustness through rigorous testing, signal integrity analysis, and compliance with industry qualification standards. The environment is highly technical, collaborative, and focused on innovation in aerospace engineering.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and contribute across the full hardware development lifecycle, from concept, requirements, and schematic design through verification, qualification, and production support.
- Design and develop digital electronic circuits and Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA) using industry-standard schematic capture tools.
- Develop and integrate high-speed digital interfaces including Ethernet, I2C, USB, LVDS, and SERDES.
- Design and support memory interfaces including DDR1, DDR2, and DDR3 for high-performance embedded systems.
- Perform hardware validation, debugging, and troubleshooting using laboratory test equipment and engineering tools.
- Conduct signal integrity, timing analysis, and ensure compliance with design robustness and reliability standards.
- Support environmental and electromagnetic testing (DO-160, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461) and ensure design adherence to aerospace qualification requirements.
- Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design for Test (DFT), and Design to Cost (DTC+) principles throughout development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, ensure traceability, and deliver high-quality hardware solutions.
Requirements:
This role requires extensive experience in hardware engineering across complex digital systems, ideally within aerospace or safety-critical environments. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong analytical thinking, and the ability to lead complex engineering efforts across the full product lifecycle.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM field.
