This field-based leadership role sits at the intersection of marketing, medical engagement, and external scientific influence within the nephrology space. You will be responsible for building and sustaining strategic relationships with key opinion leaders, shaping thought leader engagement strategy, and ensuring high-impact scientific exchange across local, regional, and national levels. The role requires strong collaboration across marketing, sales, medical affairs, and market access teams to ensure aligned execution of engagement initiatives. You will also play a key role in congress planning, speaker development, and advisory board coordination, helping to elevate scientific communication and brand positioning. Operating in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment, this position offers significant visibility and direct influence on external stakeholder strategy and insights generation. It is a highly travel-intensive role with meaningful exposure to leading experts in nephrology.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive KOL engagement strategies by identifying, profiling, and cultivating long-term relationships with key thought leaders in nephrology
  • Lead speaker bureau activities, including selection, training, coaching, and performance support for promotional speakers using approved materials
  • Plan and execute engagement strategies across congresses, advisory boards, and scientific meetings at local, regional, and national levels
  • Conduct compliant scientific and product-related discussions with thought leaders on disease state, on-label information, and corporate topics
  • Capture and synthesize insights from external experts and translate them into actionable recommendations for marketing and brand strategy
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, medical affairs, and market access to align external engagement initiatives
  • Support development of new content, updates to existing materials, and innovative programming ideas for field engagement
  • Observe live and virtual educational programs to ensure compliant execution and provide coaching where needed
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree required with 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare-related roles
    • Strong experience in nephrology is required
    • Background in product marketing, field sales, sales leadership, or thought leader engagement within life sciences
    • Proven ability to build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders and external scientific stakeholders
    • Strong understanding of thought leader engagement practices and compliance requirements
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with executive-level presence
    • Highly organized, self-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Demonstrated success in achieving or exceeding engagement, commercial, or strategic objectives
    • Ability to operate independently with strong cross-functional collaboration skills
