This role sits at the intersection of IT operations, legal compliance, and information governance, ensuring enterprise systems meet strict regulatory, litigation, and data retention requirements. You will play a key part in managing legal hold processes and safeguarding critical organizational data across multiple platforms and applications. Acting as a bridge between Legal, IT, and business teams, you will coordinate preservation efforts, support audit readiness, and maintain compliance across enterprise systems. The position requires strong attention to detail, structured thinking, and the ability to manage sensitive information in a highly regulated environment. You will also contribute to improving automation and scalability of compliance workflows, helping strengthen governance frameworks across the organization. This is a high-visibility role where your work directly supports legal integrity, operational risk reduction, and enterprise accountability.
Accountabilities
- Execute and manage legal hold processes across enterprise systems, ensuring proper preservation, monitoring, and release of data in compliance with legal requirements.
- Coordinate data collection, retention, and retrieval activities across endpoints, email systems, storage platforms, and third-party applications.
- Support enterprise data retention policies by configuring and maintaining retention rules across systems and working with system owners on execution.
- Act as a liaison between Legal, IT, and business units to ensure timely and accurate compliance with litigation holds and regulatory obligations.
- Maintain thorough documentation of legal hold and retention activities to ensure audit readiness and regulatory transparency.
- Support compliance audits by preparing reports, evidence, and documentation related to data governance activities.
- Evaluate third-party applications for legal hold and retention capabilities, ensuring vendor compliance with organizational standards.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to validate data preservation and e-discovery readiness across systems.
- Identify compliance gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and reduce operational risk.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives by streamlining workflows and enhancing coordination between Legal and IT teams.
- Support automation efforts to improve scalability and consistency in legal hold and retention processes.
- Assist in maintaining enterprise-wide compliance with regulatory and corporate data governance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in IT operations, compliance, information governance, or related disciplines.
- Strong experience with legal hold processes, data retention policies, and information governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 environments, backup systems, ITSM tools, and enterprise data platforms.
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and enterprise data protection standards.
- Experience collaborating with Legal, Compliance, and IT teams in a corporate or regulated environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple compliance workflows and prioritize tasks in a structured manner.
- Experience supporting audits, documentation, and reporting for regulatory or legal purposes.
- Knowledge of third-party application governance and vendor compliance assessment is preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical and legal requirements across teams.
- Experience in process improvement or automation initiatives is a strong advantage.
