This is a highly analytical and mission-driven role focused on supporting complex financial investigations tied to fraud detection, money laundering, and asset tracing within large-scale federal cases. You will work at the intersection of forensic accounting, data analysis, and investigative support, helping uncover illicit financial activity across multi-layered transactions and large datasets. The role involves close collaboration with federal law enforcement, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to build defensible financial insights that support litigation and enforcement actions. You will analyze bank records, trace funds across complex financial networks, and produce clear, high-quality reports and visual documentation for investigative use. This position requires strong precision, investigative curiosity, and the ability to operate effectively in high-stakes, detail-heavy environments where accuracy and rigor are critical.
Accountabilities:
- Conduct end-to-end forensic financial investigations, including tracing fraud proceeds, identifying money laundering patterns, and supporting asset forfeiture cases.
- Analyze large and complex datasets, including bank records and transaction flows, to detect irregularities and reconstruct financial activity.
- Support investigations involving federal benefit programs and other large-scale fraud-related financial cases.
- Apply advanced financial investigative techniques and leverage commercial databases and intelligence tools to extract actionable insights.
- Prepare detailed reports, summaries, exhibits, and visual presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools for legal and regulatory use.
- Collaborate closely with federal agencies, legal teams, and internal stakeholders to support case strategy, evidence development, and investigative planning.
- Maintain thorough documentation of methodologies, findings, and analytical processes in accordance with investigative and compliance standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in forensic accounting, financial investigations, fraud analysis, or related investigative finance roles.
- Strong expertise in analyzing bank records and tracing complex financial transactions across multi-layered structures.
- Proven experience supporting investigations involving fraud, money laundering, asset recovery, or federal benefit program abuse.
- Solid understanding of financial crime typologies, investigative methodologies, and asset forfeiture processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for advanced analysis and reporting.
- Hands-on experience with financial investigative tools and commercial databases used in forensic analysis.
- Professional certification such as CPA, CFE, or CAMS strongly preferred or required.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work with large, complex datasets.
- Must be eligible to undergo a U.S. government background investigation.
