Project Manager - Operations & Maintenance
KBR is looking for a Project Manager - Operations & Maintenance to support the Operations and Maintenance project at ROO, Basra, Iraq
Primary Duties/ Scope of Responsibilities
- Responsibility to deliver safe, successful, and timely Operation Maintenance Crew. Guide and direct resolution of project difficulties and complex control problems. Interact with clients and attend regular meetings and provide reports.
- Mentoring of Local National Iraqi staff in routine duties and responsibilities to facilitate the re-nationalisation of oil and gas production.
- Support the SOM Manager and Department Managers with fully qualified Operation & Maintenance personals, Project team Leads, Planners and Supervisors as part of the MMS O&G and MMS Water.
- Strong Health, Safety & Environmental ethos.

- Monitoring of progress against the procurement plan & work schedule, and avoidance of mission creep.
- Flexibility to switch priorities if a procurement or repair eta slips.
- Communicate (if) any changes are required for amendment of plan(s)
- Ability to manage concurrent activities safely & effectively.
- Acute awareness of; and possess the wherewithal to, plan for pending campaigns.
- Frequent dialogue with Inspection & Process Engineers & peers.
- Develop culture of best practise
- Proven track record in ensuring manpower with required expertise and skills are mobilized.
- Facilitate audits, inspections and safety observation tours. Ensuring follow up actions are closed out correctly and promptly.
- Ensure Toolbox Talks are structured, recorded & add value.
- Lead strong safety and communication behaviours by example.
- Understand Security and Emergency Response rationale and mentor as appropriate adopt the role of IMT Leader.
- Working knowledge of local Labour Legislation and Laws is required.
- Working knowledge of facilities’ Production Operations and Control Systems is required.
- Ensure reports use and comply with fundamental procedures and protocols of safe systems of work commensurate with shutdown tasks.
- Investigation Team member on HSE incidents.
- Assist compilation or revision of level plans and ensure prompt completion of works therein.
- Resolve queries or conflict on best practice.
- Provide detailed feedback to client.
- Manage staff performance monitoring and mentoring
- Detailed daily, weekly and monthly reporting and compile / receive handovers pre / post field breaks.
- Input into root cause analysis studies as required.
- Strive for continuous improvement in all activities Responsible for the promotion and implementation of company and client’s HSE policies.
Qualification & Experience:
- 15+ years’ experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas project/operations at senior level in different IOCs
- Degree or engineering in relevant technical discipline with 10+ years’ experience in Petrochemical or Oil and Gas project/operations at senior level
- Work to the highest personal & professional standards to achieve or exceed set objectives.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and embrace clients’ charter values.
- Foster good relationships and team working ethic with sub-contract teams to promote safe working practices and efficiency.
- Experience of working in an integrated team from diverse locations required.
