Those in deal strategy at PwC will focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and restructuring. Your work will involve analysing market trends, assessing business opportunities, and developing strategic frameworks to guide clients in making informed decisions regarding their deals. You will help clients navigate complex transactions, identify potential risks and opportunities, and develop strategies to maximise value and achieve their business objectives. Working in this area, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients in formulating and executing effective strategies to optimise outcomes in their deal-making processes.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Associate, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Proactively assist in the management of several clients, while reporting to Managers and above
  • Train and lead staff
  • Establish effective working relationships directly with clients
  • Contribute to the development of your own and team’s technical acumen
  • Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
  • Be actively involved in business development activities to help identify and research opportunities on new/existing clients 
  • Continue to develop internal relationships and your PwC brand
  • Assist with new business development and pursuit activities;
  • Cooperate with Project Assistant and Knowledge Management Centre to collect and utilise relevant business and industry trend information;
  • Analyse information effectively by applying numerical and strategic analysis techniques;
  • Assist clients with strategic planning and business reviews; growth, market entry and international expansion; and market opportunity sizing Plan
  • Deliver discrete sections of work against tight deadlines;
  • Supervise juniors;
  • Propose solution or ideas to the problem;
  • Writing report;
  • Communicate complex material effectively in written and oral formats to various audiences.

Preferred skills

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Management, Industrial Engineering or Finance & Marketing from a reputable university with a minimum GPA of 3.25 out of 4.00;
  • Minimum 2-4 years working experience in consulting or industry with strategy exposure;
  • General understanding of mergers, integrations, spin-offs and/or divestiture transactions, including options analyses and recommendations;
  • Fluent in Bahasa and English
  • Good problem solving skill (hypothesis-based);
  • Good analytical thinking;
  • Good business acumen;
  • Basic understanding of financial analysis is an advantage;
  • Demonstrates proven experience using Microsoft office as Excel, Word, PowerPoint;
