Project Delivery Manager, Power Solutions Team

Amazon · Dublin, IRL

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS) owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

In this role, you will own the project management, delivery and operationalisation of energy projects to enable and optimise AWS access to grid connection capacity across the EMEA region.

You will be responsible for the interface with project origination, subsequent delivery of the project, and thereafter the activities operationalise the commercial and technical aspects of the project to ensure successful implementation. This will be achieved by you leading the project management and delivery of generation and energy storage projects – you ‘ll pick up where origination of the project has been executed and drive the delivery and implementation of the associated works from a project management, procurement, contracting, engineering and optimisation perspective working with internal partners teams, supply chain and delivery partners to ensure delivery, on time, in budget and meeting the needs of AWS to support our customers.

The candidate will need to be able to identify key risks to programme and delivery, working with internal partner teams and delivery partners to mitigate and develop solutions to ensure on time delivery. The candidate will work across a portfolio of projects, managing complexity, ambiguity and differing timescales, multiple relationships with the ability to manage conflicting priorities should they arise.

The candidate will be pragmatic with a result orientated approach, experienced in developing and delivering pioneering projects, have an analytical skill set, strong financial acumen and a track record of working with utilities, regulators and developers across the energy industry.
