The Release Train Engineer (RTE) is a servant leader and chief coach for one or more Agile Release Trains (ARTs) delivering enterprise‑scale digital platforms and applications. This role is accountable for PI execution, flow optimization, and cross‑team alignment across Platform Infrastructure, Tech Site Portal, Tech HQ Portal, and MineStar Modernization teams, operating within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

The RTE partners with Product Management, System Architects, Engineering Managers, DevOps, and Business Owners to ensure predictable delivery, built‑in quality, and alignment to strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Release Train Engineer for designated ART(s), applying SAFe Lean‑Agile principles
  • Facilitate and manage core ART ceremonies: PI Planning, ART Sync, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt
  • Drive end‑to‑end PI execution, tracking objectives, dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments
  • Identify and resolve systemic impediments impacting flow across platform, portal, and modernization teams
  • Optimize value delivery using SAFe flow metrics (predictability, throughput, WIP, dependency aging)
  • Partner with Product Management to ensure backlog readiness, scope integrity, and priority alignment
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Engineering to sequence enablers, architectural runway, and modernization work
  • Support DevOps and Release on Demand practices to enable continuous integration and deployment
  • Provide clear, data‑driven delivery status and risk reporting to Business Owners and leadership
  • Coach Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Engineering Managers in SAFe roles and behaviors
  • Champion Built‑In Quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 12+ years of experience in large‑scale software or platform delivery
  • Demonstrated experience working in SAFe / Agile at scale environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years in a Release Train Engineer, Solution Train Engineer, or equivalent Agile delivery leadership role
  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification
  • SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification
  • Experience supporting platform infrastructure, cloud/on‑prem platforms or enterprise portals.
  • Experience leading modernization or large‑scale transformation programs
