Principal- PMT, New Product Development, Amazon Key and Ring SMB

Come join the Amazon Key team and help drive the transformation of our customer access control experience at scale. We are actively seeking a motivated and multi-talented product manager-tech who is passionate about building technical products with a strong emphasis on design, quality, performance and customer satisfaction. The individual will lead product development for a new product line.

This role is inherently cross-functional - this leader will work closely with engineering, product/program management, design, operations, finance, legal, business development, customer service, and executive teams to 1) bring products to market, 2) develop and grow business opportunities, and 3) enhance our existing products and features. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. The leader will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

Key job responsibilities
1. Lead the definition, design, development and launch of products that delight customers
2. Lead the development of the product strategy and vision supported by internal and external analysis
3. Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners
4. Define creative, high quality, simple product roadmaps based on product strategy and vision
5. Work closely and collaboratively with design and product teams from partner organizations
6. Develop detailed, crisp business requirements and user stories that can be used to create product specifications and architecture for each product and application
7. Manage backlog prioritization and trade-offs among customer feedback, performance, and operational support load
8. Work closely with hardware and software engineering teams to deliver features to market
9. Launch products to market by working with Marketing, public relations team, Sales, Finance and Operation teams
10. Proactively identify and resolve strategic issues that may impair the team’s ability to meet strategic, financial, and technical goals

A day in the life
No two days will be the same, but you will have fun, learn something new, and innovate and delight our customers, every day. Be it at ideation or at launch, you will be leading activities that will keep you connected with the most important person, our customers. This could mean defining a vision, working on PR/FAQs or identifying ways to delight our customers by looking at customer feedback. You could be working with our internal partners (engineering, commercial, PR) to make product/design decisions, or with our external partners (brands) to launch these products.
- Bachelor's degree
- 10+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience leading engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management
- Experience working with and influencing senior level stakeholders- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
