Product Manager, Consumer Desktop

Job Summary
This role is responsible for participating in development of product planning, finance ROI analysis and Go-to-Market activities for Personal Systems Consumer Desktop offerings, defining program metrics and goals, and establishing tracking mechanisms. The role also coordinates with cross-functional teams and agencies in developing and executing product introduction plans. Additionally, the role contributes to customer segmentation strategies, performs marketing operations activities, supports sales teams with training materials, and participates in retailer long-term product planning supports.
Responsibilities
- Lead the product strategy, portfolio planning, and roadmap development for Consumer Desktop and All-in-One products, ensuring alignment with business objectives, market trends, and customer needs.
- Drive customer-centric product planning through design thinking, customer insights, and market research to define differentiated product experiences and value propositions.
- Define customer segmentation, personas, and AI-enabled user scenarios that shape future product experiences across target consumer segments.
- Establish product vision, priorities, success metrics, and competitive benchmarks, using data-driven insights to guide portfolio and investment decisions.
- Apply advanced AI expertise to identify emerging user behaviors, workflows, and technology trends, collaborating with IHVs, ISVs, and ecosystem partners to define next-generation product experiences and unlock new growth opportunities.
- Partner with engineering, design, marketing, finance, supply chain, and regional teams to drive cross-functional execution from product concept through launch and lifecycle management.
- Collaborate with external ecosystem partners, including silicon vendors, software providers, ODMs, and industry partners, to accelerate innovation and deliver differentiated customer value.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities by enabling product readiness, developing compelling product narratives, and partnering with marketing and sales teams to deliver effective product training and go-to-market materials.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with key retail and channel partners to influence long-term portfolio planning, optimize product assortment, and identify emerging market opportunities.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives, applying sound business judgment and strategic thinking to resolve ambiguous challenges, influence decision-making, and drive organizational alignment.
- Mentor and coach junior team members while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
Education & Experience Recommendation
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Computer Science, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Typically 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Planning, Portfolio Planning, Product Marketing, or a related discipline, preferably within the PC, consumer electronics, semiconductor, or technology industry.
- Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end product planning, including customer segmentation, portfolio strategy, product definition, roadmap planning, and product lifecycle management.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, finance, supply chain, and regional business organizations to deliver successful product launches.
- Experience working with external ecosystem partners, such as IHVs, ISVs, ODMs, technology providers, or strategic partners, to drive product innovation and ecosystem integration.
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, AI-enabled user experiences, and emerging computing trends, with the ability to translate technology advancements into differentiated customer value.
- Proven ability to analyze market trends, competitive landscapes, and customer insights to influence product strategy and business decisions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing executive-level decision making.
- Experience applying Design Thinking, Agile methodologies, and data-driven decision making throughout the product development lifecycle is highly desirable.
