Test & Quality Engineering Lead (Local Development Centre)

Leidos is seeking an experienced Test & Quality Engineering Lead to support the Local Development Centre (LDC) in Singapore.  This role provides technical leadership for quality assurance, verification and validation, test strategy, and continuous quality improvement while working closely with customer engineers in a co-development and capability-building environment.

The successful candidate will establish testing standards and quality processes, lead verification and validation activities, support acceptance and integration testing, and contribute to long-term engineering capability development through mentoring, knowledge transfer, and hands-on collaboration.

Test & Quality Engineering Lead Responsibilities

  • Lead test planning, verification, validation, and quality assurance activities across the system lifecycle.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to test and quality engineers.
  • Establish testing standards, quality processes, test strategies, and engineering best practices.
  • Drive co-development activities with customer engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and technical oversight.
  • Lead verification, validation, acceptance testing, integration testing, and operational readiness activities.
  • Develop and oversee manual and automated testing approaches to ensure solution quality and reliability.
  • Coordinate testing activities across software, infrastructure, DevSecOps, systems integration, cybersecurity, and reliability engineering teams.
  • Support test environment preparation, test data management, dataset validation, defect management, and root cause analysis activities.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, technical planning, risk assessments, and delivery activities.
  • Support knowledge-transfer activities, technical training, workshops, and on-the-job training programs.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet quality, security, performance, and operational requirements.
  • Champion quality engineering, test automation, and continuous improvement practices across the engineering organization.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, verification and validation, or related disciplines.
  • Experience leading testing or quality engineering teams on complex technology programs.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality frameworks, verification and validation practices, and software lifecycle processes.
  • Experience supporting system integration testing, acceptance testing, and operational readiness activities.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and supporting knowledge transfer, workforce development, training, technical capability development.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in customer-facing and cross-functional environments.

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Experience leading co-development teams involving customers, partners, or contractor personnel.
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, test management platforms, and quality reporting tools.
  • Experience leveraging AI-assisted engineering tools to improve testing efficiency, defect analysis, and engineering productivity.
  • Experience using Agile planning and collaboration platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Rally, Confluence, GitLab, or similar tools.
  • Scrum Master (CSM, PSM) or other Agile-related certifications are desirable.
  • Experience working in regulated, mission-critical, safety-critical, or highly available operational environments.
  • Experience with safety assurance, safety-critical testing, or system certification processes.
  • Aviation, transportation, defense, government, or critical infrastructure domain experience is desirable.
  • Proficiency in English and one or more regional languages is desirable.
  • Candidates with existing authorization to work in Singapore.
