This role is an opportunity to contribute to complex systems implementation projects within the utility industry, ensuring the quality and reliability of enterprise-grade Oracle Utilities solutions. You will work closely with clients, business analysts, and technical teams to translate requirements into clear test strategies, cases, and execution plans. The environment is highly collaborative and delivery-focused, where precision and accountability directly impact successful system deployments. You will validate critical functionalities across billing, customer care, and meter data management systems while supporting end-to-end testing cycles. The role also involves active participation in UAT, production releases, and defect management to ensure high-quality outcomes. Accountabilities:
Design, execute, and manage comprehensive testing activities across Oracle Utilities implementations, ensuring system functionality, data accuracy, and alignment with business requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and execute manual test cases and test scripts based on functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Support the design and implementation of test strategies, test plans, and overall QA roadmaps in collaboration with test leads
- Perform unit, integration, system, and regression testing to validate application functionality and stability
- Analyze Oracle Utilities applications (CC&B and/or MDM) to ensure compliance with technical and business requirements
- Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT), production deployments, and release validation activities
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution while communicating risks and issues to project stakeholders
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment to ensure timely and high-quality delivery
- Ensure adherence to project timelines, methodology standards, and quality benchmarks while supporting continuous improvement efforts
Requirements:
This role requires strong QA expertise combined with hands-on experience in Oracle Utilities systems and the ability to work effectively in complex, multi-stakeholder implementation projects.
- 5+ years of experience in manual QA testing within software or systems implementation environments
- At least 2+ years of hands-on experience testing Oracle Utilities CC&B and/or Meter Data Management (MDM) systems in the utility industry
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test design, defect lifecycle, and structured testing processes
- Ability to interpret business requirements and translate them into detailed, reusable test cases
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work in cross-functional and client-facing environments
- Experience working in Agile or structured implementation methodologies is highly valued
- Familiarity with automated testing, performance testing, or QA tools is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
