Senior Sales Systems Engineer, VDC M365

This is a high-impact, customer-facing technical role focused on driving enterprise sales success for a modern data protection and cloud platform. You will act as a trusted technical advisor across complex pre-sales engagements, supporting large-scale opportunities within Microsoft-centric environments. The role blends deep technical expertise with commercial influence, requiring the ability to translate sophisticated security, backup, and cloud capabilities into clear business value. You will partner closely with sales teams to shape solutions, win technical evaluations, and guide customers through proof-of-concept cycles. Operating at the intersection of data resilience, cybersecurity, and cloud transformation, you will engage with senior IT and security stakeholders in enterprise organizations. This position offers strong visibility, strategic influence, and the opportunity to shape critical deals in a fast-evolving technology landscape.

Accountabilities:

In this role, you will act as the primary technical authority throughout the sales cycle, supporting complex enterprise opportunities and ensuring successful technical validation of solutions. You will collaborate closely with sales teams to design architectures, deliver demonstrations, and influence decision-making in competitive environments.

  • Serve as the lead technical advisor for enterprise pre-sales engagements, guiding opportunities through technical validation and customer alignment
  • Deliver tailored product demonstrations and technical presentations focused on Microsoft workloads such as Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and related cloud services
  • Design and execute Proof of Concept (PoC) environments to demonstrate solution effectiveness, scalability, and security
  • Partner with sales and product stakeholders to define customer requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions
  • Provide subject matter expertise on data protection, backup architectures, cloud security, and identity-based workloads
  • Develop technical documentation, solution architectures, and best practices to support customer adoption and internal enablement
  • Act as the voice of the customer by capturing feedback and contributing insights to product and engineering teams
  • Support partner and internal training initiatives to strengthen technical understanding across sales and field teams
  • Travel as required (minimum approximately 30%) to support customer engagements and strategic opportunities
  • Requirements:

    This role requires a strong blend of enterprise pre-sales experience, deep technical knowledge of Microsoft ecosystems, and the ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and business audiences. You should be comfortable working in fast-paced sales environments and influencing senior stakeholders.

    • 10+ years of experience in solution engineering, pre-sales, or technical sales roles within enterprise software or cloud environments
    • Strong expertise in Microsoft 365 ecosystems, including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Entra ID
    • Experience with cloud security, identity, and data governance frameworks, including exposure to data security posture management concepts
    • Solid understanding of Azure services, APIs, and enterprise cloud architectures
    • Deep knowledge of backup, recovery, and data protection principles in distributed environments
    • Proven ability to run technical workshops, Proof of Concept engagements, and executive-level presentations
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical topics for diverse audiences
    • Experience working in cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, and product organizations
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience preferred
