About the Job

As a Senior Scientist in Systems Biology within our Systems and Disease Biology Cluster, you will decode disease mechanisms at cellular resolution and pioneer AI-powered workflows that accelerate the path from discovery to patient impact. Ready to get started?

The Systems and Disease Biology Cluster, part of the Target, Disease, and Systems Biology function at Sanofi Research, is dedicated to delivering first-in-class medicines to patients. Our approach involves deconstructing disease mechanisms into cellular building blocks and advancing innovative therapeutics for the precise targeting of pathogenic cell types.

We are in search of a highly skilled, independent, proactive, and well-organized Senior Scientist. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in complex cellular analytics, as well as strong data science skills to help build upon our current achievements and secure our future success. Experience in developing and deploying modern agentic analysis workflows to accelerate discovery timelines and create reusable analytical templates is highly valued.

Join the engine of Sanofi’s mission — where deep immunoscience meets bold, AI-powered research. In R&D, you’ll drive breakthroughs that could turn the impossible into possible for millions.

Our deep understanding of the immune system – and innovative pipeline – enables us to invent medicines and vaccines that treat and protect millions of people around the world. Together, we chase the miracles of science to improve people’s lives.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and leverage spatial and single-cell multiomic data to delineate pathogenic cell states and tissue microenvironments, generating actionable mechanistic insights and novel target hypotheses that directly inform drug discovery decisions.
  • Design intelligent agentic workflows that streamline the deployment of innovative algorithms and computational models.
  • Contribute to the evaluation and application of foundation models and virtual cell models to advance our understanding of disease biology.
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams, including biologists, chemists, data scientists, and other stakeholders.
  • Lead and contribute to high-profile presentations and publications, ensuring effective communication of research findings and methodologies.
  • Support the growth of the team by mentoring interns and junior scientists, sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative research environment.

About You:

  • PhD completed by August 2026 in systems biology, computational biology, computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field with 0-3 years of relevant academic or industry experience.

  • Experience in analyzing cellular multiomic data in academia or industry using Python.

  • Hands-on experience building or deploying agentic analysis workflows.

  • Record of productivity, innovation, and impact, demonstrated through publications or patents.

  • Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills, with a successful history of collaboration across analytical disciplines.

Preferred:

  • Postdoctoral training experience.

  • Familiarity with or interest in addressing challenges related to combinatorial synergy and tailored deployments of foundation and virtual cell models.
