Join our team at Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Manufacturing Chemist. In this role, you'll perform organic chemical reactions/ formulations and manufacturing activities in a GMP/ISO-regulated environment, working with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies. You'll execute manufacturing protocols, troubleshoot processes, maintain detailed documentation, and collaborate across functions to ensure high-quality output. This position offers opportunities to drive continuous improvement while working in a team-oriented setting focused on safety, quality and operational excellence.
Location: This is a fully onsite position based at our Milwaukee, WI site. Unfortunately, relocation assistance is NOT provided.

A Day in the Life:
- Prepare organic chemical reactions/ formulations according to approved manufacturing protocols
- Support batch production activities in regulated environments
- Complete batch records, manufacturing documentation, and quality records accurately
- Identify process deviations, investigate issues, and escalate appropriately
- Follow GMP, ISO, SOP, safety, and quality requirements
- Operate laboratory and manufacturing equipment safely and effectively following assigned SOPs
- Support process optimization and operational excellence initiatives
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Quality, Operations, Manufacturing, and Technical teams
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree required with no prior experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology manufacturing, formulation development, or related laboratory work
- Preferred Fields of Study: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Engineering or related scientific field
- Experience following controlled procedures, SOPs, documentation requirements, quality standards in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in documentation practices and batch record completion
- Experience with quality systems and regulatory compliance (GMP, ISO)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and laboratory software systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work while wearing required PPE
- Ability to work flexible hours including possible shift work
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety protocols
- Knowledge of data analysis and basic statistical methods such as trend analysis, stoichiometry
- Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to changing priorities
Preferred Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of laboratory equipment, analytical methods and instrumentation
- Buffer preparation, reagent preparation, solution preparation, product formulation
- GMP, GLP, ISO 9001 environments
- CAPA awareness, deviation handling, quality investigations
- Controlled environment manufacturing; clean room is a plus
- Chromelleon, M-Drive, AMAPS, Trackwise
- Troubleshooting process or equipment issues
