This role focuses on strengthening and protecting enterprise information systems within a highly secure, mission-driven environment. The Cybersecurity Engineer (Trellix) will support critical defense-related systems by applying advanced information assurance practices and security engineering principles. You will work closely with technical teams in an agile setting to design, integrate, and maintain secure system architectures. The position requires hands-on expertise in threat detection, IPS management, and security tooling such as Trellix and Check Point technologies. You will also contribute to improving system resilience by analyzing security requirements and implementing effective mitigation strategies. Accountabilities:

  • Provide cybersecurity engineering support across the full system lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, demonstration, and integration of secure information systems.
  • Analyze information security requirements and apply structured, analytical approaches to resolve complex information assurance and system-level security challenges.
  • Support integration of electronic processes and methodologies to address enterprise security issues and ensure compliance with information assurance standards.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain security signatures and rules, including SNORT-based configurations, to enhance intrusion detection capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technical teams in an agile environment to support enterprise software systems and ensure secure system functionality for mission-critical applications.
  • Requirements:

    • Minimum 7 years of relevant IT or cybersecurity experience, with a strong focus on information assurance and security engineering.
    • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with eligibility for IT I requirements.
    • Compliance with DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level III certification requirements (such as CISSP, CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, CCSP, or equivalent).
    • Compliance with DoD 8570/8140 CND-IS certification requirements (such as CySA+, CEH, SSCP, or equivalent).
    • Strong hands-on experience with Trellix IPS Manager and Check Point IPS Blade technologies.
    • At least 4 years of experience developing customized SNORT signatures for intrusion detection and prevention systems.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and system-thinking skills with the ability to operate in secure, regulated environments.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical certifications strongly preferred.
