As India Regional Senior Sourcing Leader- Commodity Management, you will be leading a team of 10+ Commodity Sourcing professionals and shall be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, ensuring operational excellence through robust collaboration / partnership with cross functional teams & supplier base.  

You will play a pivotal role in driving cost optimization, volume growth, performance reliability and technical/operational excellence from India region  (team, supply base).

As an India Regional Senior Sourcing Leader you will be responsible for :

  • Developing & deploying effective strategic/project sourcing actions in alignment with global commodity leaders, business stakeholders across commodity segments (Castings, Forgings, Raw materials, Machining, Fabrications, Assemblies/Sub assemblies, Buyouts, Accessories, C Class).
  • Leveraging deep industry expertise and strong network to identify/finalize/onboard reliable - capable suppliers quickly and effectively to support business needs / customer needs.
  • Developing and implementing robust supplier strategy that balances cost efficiency, quality, delivery reliability.
  • Leading sourcing deliverables for NPIs, transfer of work products, re-sourcing efforts (~ high value suppliers to best value suppliers).  Drive / execute new parts sourcing, development & qualification efforts with suppliers together with supplier quality and Engineering teams.
  • Ensuring compliance/adherence to Sourcing & Purchasing policies, QMS, Integrity assessment guidelines while the team execute its day to day tasks.
  • Driving early engagement with Sales/Proposals/Applications Engineering / Engineering teams to understand and support on market bids/orders.  Proactively collaborate and improve cost /delivery leadtimes for parts at enquiry / firm order phases
  • Establishing robust/efficient/sustainable supply chain, operating mechanisms with existing and new suppliers to deliver Cost out /Fulfilment/Leadtime/Quality/Growth objectives of business, region.
  • Establishing and maintain strong long term relationships and mutual cooperation/alignment with supply partners, business stakeholders (Plants, Engineering, Global commodity leaders, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Sales, Application Engineering, Product line, Project management etc) and effectively drive forward business objectives/ priorities .
  • Analyzing spend landscape/ industry & market landscape/ suppliers performance at regular intervals.  Leverage Sourcing/Procurement tools, data analytics, market intelligence, business intelligence to create / manage / optimize supplier panels in alignment with Global commodity leaders & business stakeholders.  
  • Enhancing regional supply base capabilities and deliver Best Cost/Quality/Fulfilment/ESG initiatives/Growth for the business.
  • Proactively monitor market trends, geo-political risks, technological advancements and industry best practices related to various commodity segments. Carry out external benchmarking, competition landscape.  Recommend & Implement improvements/innovations to optimize sourcing processes, business processes/practices , metrics outcome.
  • Driving robust - comprehensive supplier assessments (techno commercial, QMS, regulatory, HSE, 5S, capability/capacity/financial risks) for new / existing suppliers and uphold stringent standards.
  • Oversee Commodity Sourcing team’s day to day deliverables such as
    • RFQing – Quoting – Negotiations (price/lead time/terms & conditions) – Finalization with suppliers for purchase requisitions pertaining to customer project orders as well as for strategic initiatives.
    • Accurately maintain SAP attributes (price, pay terms, incoterms, lead times, MoQs etc) and source rule to enable purchasing actions.
    • Implement contracts / agreements with strategic suppliers (~Strategic supply agreements, VMI agreements, rebate agreements, quarterly/half yearly/annual price discount agreements etc) to support business needs and objectives.
    • Measure/Monitor/Improve suppliers’ performance via scorecards and drive sustainable improvement actions plans with regional supply base across commodities.
    • Lead / drive supply risk mitigation efforts , provide order expediting support to buying team on need basis.
  • Strong team leadership,  Focused people development / mentoring / growth.   Provide strategic direction, feedback / training to team to enhance their sourcing and supplier management capabilities.

Fuel your passion

  • Have 10-15 years of Commodity Sourcing experience with proven ability to identify / develop / manage suppliers and strategic relationship.  Should possess strong expertise & experience in sourcing fully finished Castings (Steel/Investment/Iron), forgings, raw materials, machining, fabrication, buyouts , accessories, c class. 
  • Should have led project sourcing activities for repeat & non repeat buys,  NPI sourcing / localization efforts, re-sourcing initiatives and improved cost – quality – delivery performance from supply base.
  • Should have worked in global MNCs preferably from Control valves industry.
  • Must be a holder of Bachelor/ Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college plus trainings/certifications in Sourcing/SCM is desired.
  • Should possess unwavering commitment to Integrity, Sourcing/Purchasing Compliance, Quality mindset, HSE consciousness while executing day to day deliverables.
  • Should demonstrate positive work ethics and professionalism.
  • Should possess deeper domain knowledge, strong process & systems knowledge and hands on work experience in Sourcing/Procure to Pay processes, Supplier evaluations & assessments (should have carried out audits), Contracting & Negotiations. Must have sound experience/exposure to Sourcing/Procurement analytics & tools, Costing model/techniques, SAP/ERP.
  • Must be a strong negotiator, effective collaborator, efficient communicator, powerful presenter, change agent, visionary & proactive.
  • Should possess technical aptitude, business & financial acumen, cost assessment, leadership skills, data analytical skills, effective/excellent power point presentation skills.
  • Should have strong Interpersonal, collaboration and leadership skills. Should be able to execute multiple Sourcing / Supplier development projects & strategic initiatives simultaneously.
  • Should have led/driven cost & lead time reduction initiatives, process improvement/simplification initiatives.
  • Should have ability to proactively analyze and resolve problems/ risks/ crisis/ conflicts through robust collaboration & fact based approach.
  • Should be able to influence, persuade and lead / drive stakeholders/peers/suppliers to achieve desired outcomes inline to company & functional goals/objectives/priorities.
