Contract Specialist II

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contract Specialist II based in the United States.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute directly to the integrity and efficiency of federal acquisition operations within a mission-driven public sector environment. The Contract Specialist II supports procurement activities across the full contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and agency policies while collaborating closely with contracting officers and program teams. The position plays a key role in preparing and managing acquisition documentation, supporting pre-award and post-award activities, and maintaining accurate contract records. Working in a fast-paced and highly regulated setting, the role requires strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. It is a remote position with occasional travel for onboarding and operational needs within the United States.

Accountabilities:

  • Support cradle-to-grave federal acquisition activities from planning through contract closeout.
  • Conduct acquisition planning, market research, and assist in procurement strategy development.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain solicitation packages (RFQs, RFPs, IFBs) and related acquisition documentation.
  • Assist in proposal receipt, evaluation support, negotiations, source selection, and contract award processes.
  • Draft and process contract actions including awards, modifications, option exercises, de-obligations, and closeouts.
  • Maintain electronic contract files and support reporting, metrics tracking, and data call responses.
  • Coordinate with contracting officers, government stakeholders, and program offices to ensure acquisition alignment and compliance with FAR, HHSAR, and agency policies.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in federal contracting or acquisition support, including cradle-to-grave contract activities.
    • Active or previous FAC-C certification (or equivalent civilian certification).
    • Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), procurement lifecycle, contract administration, and source selection processes.
    • Experience supporting both pre-award and post-award acquisition functions.
    • Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple concurrent procurement actions in a deadline-driven environment.
    • Preferred: experience with Integrated Contract Expert (ICE), electronic contract writing systems, and civilian federal agencies such as HHS or CDC.
