Contract Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contract Specialist based in the United States.

This is a fully remote opportunity supporting complex federal acquisition and contract administration activities across large-scale design and construction programs. The role plays a critical part in ensuring compliant, efficient, and well-documented procurement processes from pre-award through closeout. You will work closely with contracting officers to shape acquisition strategies, prepare solicitations, and evaluate proposals that directly support federal mission delivery. The position requires strong analytical thinking, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multiple high-value contracts simultaneously. You will contribute to both the strategic and operational sides of federal procurement, ensuring adherence to compliance standards while improving acquisition outcomes. This is a highly impactful role within a structured yet fast-moving environment where precision and accountability are essential.

Accountabilities:

  • Support full lifecycle contracting activities, including pre-award planning, solicitation development, post-award administration, and contract closeout in alignment with federal requirements.
  • Conduct acquisition planning and market research to determine appropriate contracting strategies and sourcing approaches.
  • Prepare and issue solicitations such as RFPs and RFQs, including amendments and supporting documentation.
  • Assist in technical evaluations, including best-value tradeoff analyses and proposal review processes.
  • Perform cost and price analysis, support negotiation activities, and prepare award and modification documentation.
  • Maintain accurate electronic contract files and ensure compliance with federal and agency documentation standards.
  • Administer active contracts, resolve payment-related issues, and process contract modifications for approval.
  • Support federal construction and A/E contract activities, ensuring regulatory compliance throughout execution.
  • Assist with contract closeout activities, verifying completeness and adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of federal contracting experience, including exposure to construction and A/E contracts.
    • Strong knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and related agency-specific procurement policies.
    • Experience supporting acquisition lifecycle activities in a federal environment.
    • Ability to obtain HSPD-12 PIV credentials and pass a federal background investigation, including U.S. residency requirements.
    • Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills with attention to regulatory detail.
    • Experience with federal procurement systems such as PRISM, FPDS, or FBMS is highly preferred.
    • Familiarity with FAC-C or DAWIA certification standards is an advantage.
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills, with the ability to support contracting officers and cross-functional teams.
