This role offers an excellent entry point into the insurance and renewable energy underwriting space, supporting the lifecycle of complex renewable energy policies within a highly data-driven environment. You will work closely with underwriting professionals to ensure accurate documentation, smooth policy processing, and reliable data management across multiple systems. The position plays a key role in maintaining operational efficiency by supporting submissions, policy issuance, and reporting activities. Accountabilities
In this role, you will support underwriting teams across the full policy lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency in all operational processes. You will act as a key coordination point between underwriting, data, and compliance functions.
- Support underwriting teams from submission intake through policy issuance and post-bind servicing.
- Build and maintain Statement of Value (SOV) files and other underwriting documentation using Excel and internal systems.
- Prepare, generate, and issue policy documents with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage high-volume underwriting inboxes, triaging incoming requests and ensuring proper routing.
- Enter, verify, and maintain data integrity across underwriting platforms and internal systems.
- Update and distribute recurring reports, including data extraction, tables, and visual summaries.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Data Science, Compliance, and Underwriting to support portfolio needs.
- Conduct basic research on renewable energy technologies, market developments, and insured assets.
- Assist in tracking broker and client information to support relationship management.
- Support preliminary review of claims and assist in documenting loss history information.
Requirements
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and motivated to begin a career in underwriting or insurance operations. You are comfortable working with data, supporting multiple priorities, and learning in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and stay organized in a high-volume environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and collaborate across teams.
