The primary function of a Warehouse Manager is daily manpower planning, labor management and cost containment for the activities for the contract logistics department and the freight forwarding department within the multi-customer facility. Shipping and receiving activities are performed at a detailed level such that tracking and tracing may be at the SKU and serial number level, not just the quantity level.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Heads the following programs at facility: building maintenance, equipment maintenance, sanitation and safety
• Tracks, maintains and forwards issues related to assets to include handling equipment, storage media, building fixtures, IT equipment to include zebra printers and infrastructure, and maintenance of facility
• Stays abreast of customer scopes of work including; immediately elevate scope creep to management
• Plans layout of shop floor/storage media considering the size, characteristics and expected dwell time
• Maintains knowledge of proper methods for operating equipment to include forklifts, reach trucks, man-up, etc.
• Maintains knowledge WMS’: query inventory, track transactions, run reports, operate RF scanners, etc.
• Provides accurate recording and retention of inventory and item movement; oversees inventory control activities to include cycle counts and physical inventories
• Maintains and reviews records to include bill of ladings goods receipts, packing lists (shipment manifest), tally sheets for accuracy and compliance with established procedures
• Traces history of SKUs received and stored to determine reasons for discrepancies and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies for the future
• Assigns duties and examines employees’ work for accuracy, neatness, and compliance to procedures
• Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates
• Maintains harmony and equity among workers and resolve complaints
• Manages warehouse staff to include progressive discipline, employee payroll issues, and annual reviews
• Tracks and catalogs customer level labor and space utilized and provide to manager
• Develops and maintain efficient workflows, daily manpower plans and schedules
• Performs daily operational kickoff and manpower planning meeting with colleagues to effectively share resources to include floor space, staff and equipment
• Executes commercial billing for CLC clients according to respective SOP and related rate cards
• Ensure performance goals are set, performance is measured, and regular informal and formal feedback is provided to direct reports within assigned department
• Monitors and manages staffing levels and workload allocation across product team within assigned territory. This includes talent acquisition, furloughing, re-purposing, re-shifting, demotion, promotion, and severance
• Develops team and individuals within the team. Responsible for succession planning at agent, supervisor, and one’s own level
• Verifies the accuracy and timeliness of warehouse budgeting and forecasting
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise up to twenty full time employees and as well as additional temporary employees when need arises
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and ability required.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
• Associate’s degree (AA) from a two-year college; Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience will be considered in lieu of educational requirement
• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum seven years’ leadership experience concentrated in a distribution center environment with an international third-party logistics company previous team leader and training experience
• Prior experience as TSA Screening Supervisor required
• Working knowledge of various warehouse tools and equipment required
• Basic proficiency in operating a warehouse hand-held device
• Forklift certification required
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems, basic inventory control, and domestic transportation documentation
• Completion of industry related course(s) is an asset
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills preferred

• Coaching skills – able to train, coach, and develop subordinates
• Willingness to work overtime hours and some weekends
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
• Stand, stoop, kneel, sit, crawl and walk for extended periods of time
• Push and pull loaded carts, pallet jacks and strollers
• Lift and carry cartons, materials and wooden pallets at a minimum of 25 pounds
• Use arms, hands, fingers and body to transport cartons, materials and wooden pallets
• Use of senses to include hearing, talking, touching, feeling and vision. Specific vision abilities required include seeing clearly in both near and far distances

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The environment is safe provided proper measures and precautions are taken. The typical working environment includes the following:
• Working inside and outside of a warehousing and distribution facility
• Working inside and outside of trailers and containers
• Working around electrical or battery driven packaging machines and conveyors with moving parts
• Working around moving objects and vehicles
• Exposure to dampness, humidity and ambient temperatures
• Working in dark trailers, aisles or walkways until proper lighting is employed
• Slippery, wet or uneven surfaces.
• Use various manual material handling devices to include forklifts, dollies, and pallet jacks.
