This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of day-to-day financial operations within a mission-driven environment.
You will be responsible for managing and reviewing accounts payable and receivable processes while ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
The position involves preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and supporting accurate financial reporting across multiple operational areas.
You will interact with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and ensure smooth financial workflows.
This is a detail-oriented role where analytical thinking and strong judgement are essential to maintaining financial control and transparency.

Accountabilities:

  • Review, code, and process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform account reconciliations, ensuring financial records are accurate and recorded in the correct accounting period.
  • Manage vendor records, respond to inquiries, and follow up on outstanding transactions to ensure timely resolution.
  • Enter donations, issue charitable receipts, and accurately allocate deposits within the general ledger.
  • Monitor compliance with tax coding, payment terms, and financial policies while ensuring proper handling of financial instruments.
  • Support smaller operational units with financial processing, guidance, and procedural advice.
  • Assist with audit preparation, external reporting requirements, and financial documentation as needed.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements while documenting financial procedures and business requirements.
  • Requirements:

    • University degree in Accounting or a related field.
    • 2–3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.
    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
    • High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to exercise sound judgement while managing complex financial data and processes.
    • Strong ethical standards, confidentiality, and a professional approach to financial management.
    • Excellent communication skills for working with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Ability to work independently in a structured, deadline-driven environment.
