Senior Supply Base Engineer

We are looking to staff this Supply Base Engineer position that is based in Shenzhen, China at NVIDIA Corporate. The Senior Supply Base Engineer will have the responsibility for providing end to end manufacturing and process solutions, support NVIDIA product lines, including GPU (graphics process unit), consumer electronics, automotive, as well as AI (artificial intelligence) related products, such as super computer, data center, etc..

What you'll be doing:

  • Participate in NPI (new product introduction) material readiness, DFX related, and step-by-step manufacturing process validation.

  • Accountable for manufacturing aspect of the product design activities, find the best-in-class manufacturing solutions that meet product and operational requirements.

  • Lead suppliers to optimize manufacturing process parameters. Identify critical parts or processes, apply industry standard methodologies, ensure efficient yield and efficiency to achieve NVIDIA capacity and cost target

  • Build the reliable feed-forward path for suppliers fully understanding NVIDIA design intent and product expectations with the completeness of product specifications, as well as process parameters prior to production starts. Contribute for all qualification reports in NVIDIA PDP (product development platform) system timely.

  • Evaluate supply base technology superiority and capacity, recommend optimal material supply strategy to support NVIDIA innovation needs

  • Lead continuous efficiency and performance improvement of products’ manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost. Lead market technology trends analysis.

  • This role will work with the multiple teams, key ones being – Hardware design engineering, Procurement, Commodity management, Quality, Reliability and Compliance.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor’s degree or above or equivalent experience in engineering, material science, manufacturing or related field

  • Must have good interpersonal skill, both written and verbal

  • Over 5 years in engineering design, manufacturing or product quality engineering in one of the fields of consumer electronics, GPU, automotive or AI related industries. Familiar with electrical or electro-mechanical components, technologies, and its testing. Know well in commonly used manufacturing technologies and component manufacturing process, proficient in at least one of the key manufacturing technologies used in NVIDIA products, good understanding of commonly used equipment in manufacturing world, accurately predict production performance

  • Bring positive and real initiative to the job, has the ability to quickly learn about new processes with little information provided, as well as effective problem-solving along with technical and quality insight.

  • The phenomenal teammate must be capable of coordinating cross functionally with groups, excellent organizing abilities, proactive & self-motivated.

  • Having experiences in program management is a plus.

  • Working experience with highly cosmetic parts in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong 6-sigma, SPC expertise

  • Able to use engineering design and analysis software, such as Cadence, PTC Creo, Zuken, etc.

  • Comfortable with figures and in collecting, analyzing and interpreting data

  • In depth knowledge of current technologies capability and be passionate about new technologies but also possess business mind set to apply to practical applications to modernize technologies that meet business objectives and robust mass production.
