This is a senior technical leadership role focused on shaping the architecture of a modern, cloud-native healthcare technology platform. You will play a critical role in transforming legacy systems into scalable, interoperable, and high-performance distributed solutions that support a complex product ecosystem. Acting as a bridge between product, engineering, and infrastructure teams, you will translate business and product requirements into robust architectural designs. The role requires deep expertise in healthcare data standards, distributed systems, and platform modernization. You will guide technical execution while ensuring alignment with long-term enterprise architecture strategy. This is a high-impact opportunity to influence the evolution of a mission-driven healthcare platform at scale.

Accountabilities:

You will lead architectural design and technical strategy for platform modernization, ensuring scalable, secure, and interoperable healthcare solutions across the ecosystem.

  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture for key product areas, translating requirements into scalable and maintainable technical designs.
  • Partner with product teams to design architecture for core modules, including scheduling and platform services.
  • Drive modernization efforts, refactoring legacy systems into cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.
  • Design and implement data synchronization, replication, and consistency models across distributed and multi-tenant environments.
  • Ensure interoperability by implementing healthcare data standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD, and EDI.
  • Lead engineering initiatives that improve system performance, scalability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, infrastructure, security, and product leadership to align architecture with business goals.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams.
  • Support adoption of modern development approaches, including AI-assisted and automated engineering workflows.
  • Requirements:

    You bring deep architectural expertise in complex, distributed systems, with strong experience in healthcare technology and platform modernization.

    • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a principal engineer or architecture role.
    • Proven experience modernizing monolithic systems into cloud-native, microservices-based architectures.
    • Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCD, EDI) and integration frameworks.
    • Expertise in distributed systems design, including data synchronization and replication strategies.
    • Strong technical background in AWS, serverless architectures, REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven systems, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
    • Experience balancing long-term architectural strategy with short-term delivery priorities.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Highly execution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and quality outcomes.
    • Experience in healthcare IT or regulated enterprise environments is strongly preferred.
