Senior Financial Accountant

This Senior Financial Accountant role sits within a high-growth finance organization supporting a large portfolio of utility-scale energy storage assets.
You will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and supporting complex multi-entity accounting structures.
The role is central to the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, working across project accounting, consolidations, and operational finance.
You will collaborate closely with teams across FP&A, treasury, asset management, and development to ensure financial accuracy and transparency.
The position offers exposure to complex energy infrastructure accounting, including construction, capitalization, and intercompany transactions.
You will contribute to improving accounting processes through automation, tooling, and modern finance practices.
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment where precision and ownership directly support business performance and growth.
Accountabilities:
- Support the preparation, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Execute month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, revenue invoicing, fixed assets, depreciation, and variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure timely and precise recording of project-related billing, expenses, and accruals.
- Manage intercompany transactions, eliminations, and consolidations across multiple legal entities and corporate structures.
- Support project accounting activities including capitalization of construction and development costs and fixed asset tracking.
- Assist in preparing audit support materials and compliance reporting for lenders, tax equity investors, auditors, and other external stakeholders.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Treasury, FP&A, Asset Management, and Development teams to support financial reporting and operational needs.
- Identify and contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and enhanced use of financial systems and tools.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support leadership and business decision-making.
- 4–7 years of experience in accounting or a related finance role, preferably in complex or multi-entity environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field required.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles, including consolidations and intercompany accounting.
- Experience working with multi-entity structures and partnership accounting is strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience with ERP or accounting systems (Sage Intacct experience is a plus).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage reconciliations, reporting, and complex financial data.
- Ability to meet tight monthly and quarterly close deadlines with accuracy and consistency.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Self-starter attitude with strong ownership, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure accounting is a plus.
- CPA certification is a plus but not required.
- Competitive base salary of approximately $110,000 with eligibility for up to 20% annual bonus.
