Platform Engineer

Jobgether · US

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Platform Engineer based in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to shape and scale a modern cloud-based technology platform that powers critical healthcare applications used daily by care providers and operational teams. As a Platform Engineer, you will sit at the core of a cross-functional engineering ecosystem, building the infrastructure and tooling that enable product and data teams to deliver safely, quickly, and reliably. You will design systems that improve developer experience, strengthen security, and ensure high availability across user-facing and data-driven services. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment, you will partner closely with engineers, data teams, and product stakeholders to solve complex infrastructure challenges. The role blends hands-on engineering with strategic platform design, requiring a strong focus on automation, scalability, and operational excellence. This is a high-impact position where your work directly enhances system reliability, developer productivity, and ultimately care delivery outcomes.

Accountabilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform using Infrastructure as Code practices, with a strong emphasis on reusable Terraform modules and safe deployment patterns.
  • Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and developer tooling to improve engineering velocity and system reliability.
  • Implement and support observability solutions, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting systems, and service-level objectives to ensure system health and rapid incident detection.
  • Drive security and compliance initiatives including identity and access management, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, audit logging, and support for regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and SOC 2.
  • Partner with software and data engineers to resolve infrastructure, networking, database, and deployment challenges while promoting secure-by-default engineering practices.
  • Support and enhance data platform infrastructure, including orchestration systems, data pipelines, and analytics tooling used for operational and clinical insights.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization initiatives through improved visibility, monitoring, and resource efficiency strategies.
  • Develop automation and tooling that reduces operational toil, improves developer experience, and standardizes platform workflows.
  • Participate in incident response, postmortems, and reliability engineering practices to continuously improve system resilience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, clinical, and design stakeholders when platform decisions impact end-user experience.
  • Contribute to engineering culture through mentorship, documentation, hiring support, and adoption of modern development practices, including AI-assisted engineering tools.
  • Requirements

    • 6+ years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering roles.

    • Solid experience with cloud platforms, with GCP preferred (AWS or Azure acceptable with willingness to adapt to GCP).
    • Proven experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and internal developer tooling.
    • Strong background in cloud security practices including IAM, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance readiness.
    • Experience working in data-driven environments, including exposure to data platforms, orchestration tools, or analytics pipelines such as dbt.
    • Proficiency in writing technical documentation, design documents, RFCs, and postmortems to support structured engineering decision-making.
    • Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day workflows, with good judgment on their effective and responsible use.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work across engineering, product, data, and operational teams.
    • Passion for building reliable, secure, and scalable systems in mission-driven environments.
    • Preferred experience in healthcare or other highly regulated industries.
    • Benefits

      • Competitive annual salary ranging from $139,000 to $183,000, based on experience, skills, and location.
