This role focuses on designing, deploying, and supporting advanced LAN and WLAN solutions within secure, high-performance enterprise and government environments. You will act as a subject matter expert for Aruba-based networking technologies, supporting both classified and unclassified infrastructures across complex, large-scale deployments. The position combines hands-on engineering with architectural design, troubleshooting, and Tier 3 support responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate wireless and wired network solutions with broader security and WAN architectures. Frequent travel to customer sites is required, where you will lead installations, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with stringent security standards. This is a highly technical, field-engaged role with strong impact on mission-critical network operations.
Accountabilities:
- Design, configure, deploy, and support Aruba-based LAN/WLAN solutions across enterprise and government network environments.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and Tier 3 support for wireless and wired network infrastructure, including client and mobile device connectivity issues.
- Conduct on-site network installations, surveys, and optimization activities, ensuring alignment with engineering design specifications.
- Integrate wireless solutions with WAN and security infrastructures, including authentication, encryption, and access control mechanisms such as 802.1x and RADIUS.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network designs, implementation plans, Visio diagrams, and operational guides.
- Utilize network management and monitoring tools such as Aruba AirWave to maintain performance, availability, and security of deployed systems.
- Provide technical reach-back support to field teams while assisting in planning and documentation for future deployments.
Requirements:
- 2–5+ years of experience in wireless networking, LAN/WLAN engineering, or enterprise network infrastructure roles.
- Active or ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and Security+ or IAT Level I certification within required timeframe.
- Current or obtainable Aruba Professional-level certification (Campus Access, Switching, Security, ClearPass, or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, and wireless technologies.
- Hands-on experience with Aruba technologies such as AirWave and related enterprise network management tools.
- Proficiency in technical documentation using Microsoft Visio, Word, and Excel.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in field environments.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with engineers, technicians, and stakeholders in dynamic settings.
- Willingness to travel frequently and perform physically demanding fieldwork (standing, lifting, climbing, and equipment handling).
