This role leads a high-impact engineering team responsible for building a next-generation AI product evolving from early R&D into a production-ready, enterprise-grade platform. You will shape engineering execution, team structure, and delivery practices while staying closely connected to technical implementation. The role blends hands-on technical leadership with people management, requiring strong product judgment and the ability to guide complex architectural decisions. You will help define what “production-ready” means in an AI-first, privacy-conscious, and open-source-driven environment. The position sits at the intersection of AI innovation, distributed systems, and cross-platform product development. It offers the opportunity to influence both the technical foundation and long-term direction of a globally distributed product team. Accountabilities

  • Lead engineering execution by defining priorities, ownership, delivery timelines, and quality expectations across a senior technical team.
  • Manage engineers and contractors through coaching, feedback, performance development, and structured team growth practices.
  • Stay actively engaged in technical work, including code review, architectural input, and evaluation of engineering trade-offs.
  • Partner with product and technical leadership to translate AI product strategy into clear, executable engineering plans.
  • Establish and improve engineering processes including planning, release management, testing, and operational reliability.
  • Ensure high standards across security, performance, maintainability, documentation, and production readiness.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and team scaling while building a strong engineering culture rooted in ownership and quality.
  • Requirements

    • 15+ years of software development experience, including significant leadership experience in complex product environments.
    • 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams, including senior engineers or technical leads.
    • Strong technical background in AI-enabled products such as LLM applications, RAG systems, agents, or automation workflows.
    • Experience delivering cross-platform applications (web, desktop, or mobile) using modern frameworks and architectures.
    • Familiarity with enterprise-grade software requirements including security, privacy, compliance, and customer-controlled deployments.
    • Experience with distributed systems and product engineering in environments requiring scalability and reliability.
    • Strong ability to structure ambiguity into clear execution plans and maintain delivery momentum in fast-moving teams.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to align stakeholders on technical trade-offs and priorities.
