[What you will be working on]
Sport Singapore is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to build and lead high-performing engineering teams responsible for delivering innovative digital products that enable Singapore's sporting ecosystem.
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in establishing new engineering teams, driving technical excellence, and delivering impactful products and platforms. You will lead multiple agile teams of engineers, partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and business stakeholders, and be accountable for the technical direction, engineering practices, and successful delivery of products under your care.
This is a technical leadership role that combines people management, software architecture, engineering execution, and organizational leadership.
As an Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will include:

Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams.

Establish engineering processes, team structures, and agile delivery practices for new and existing teams.

Own the technical direction, architecture, and successful delivery of products and platforms under your care.

Ensure engineering excellence through strong software design, coding standards, security, reliability, and operational practices.
-
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business goals into scalable technical solutions.

Drive adoption of modern engineering practices, including cloud-native technologies, DevOps, and AI-assisted software development

Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
[What we are looking for]
Qualifications & Experience
-
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
-
At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience.
-
At least 2 years of experience leading, coaching, and developing software engineers.

Proven experience leading agile software development teams and delivering complex software products.
-
Experience building and scaling engineering teams is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
-
Strong experience with modern frontend web frameworks, particularly Next.js and the broader React ecosystem.

Strong experience designing and building scalable, secure, and maintainable software systems.
-
Experience designing and operating distributed systems, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
-
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS (preferred), Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
-
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
-
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
-
Experience implementing engineering best practices including automated testing, observability, monitoring, and infrastructure-as-code.

Familiarity with modern software architecture patterns and engineering methodologies.
Preferred

Experience leading multiple agile teams simultaneously.

Experience delivering large-scale digital platforms or citizen-facing applications.

Experience working in public sector or highly regulated environments.

Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and engineering metrics.

Passion for leveraging AI-assisted and Agentic AI technologies to enhance software engineering productivity and outcomes.
