Jobgether · US

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Engineering Manager, CloudOps Infrastructure based in the United States.

You will lead a high-impact CloudOps and infrastructure engineering team responsible for powering large-scale, real-time advertising systems operating under extreme performance and reliability constraints.
This role combines technical leadership and hands-on engineering management, with deep ownership of cloud infrastructure, production systems, and high-throughput backend services.
You will guide a small team of engineers building and operating systems that process massive volumes of real-time traffic with strict latency requirements.
Your focus will be on ensuring reliability, optimizing performance, and continuously reducing cloud costs at scale.
You will partner closely with product and engineering stakeholders to align infrastructure priorities with business goals.
This is a highly operational role where incident response, system observability, and production excellence are core responsibilities.
You will also play a key role in mentoring engineers and shaping a culture of accountability, execution, and continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage a scrum team of 4–6 engineers working on cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and backend systems for high-volume real-time bidding platforms.
  • Own planning and delivery processes including sprint planning, backlog prioritization, execution tracking, and team retrospectives.
  • Oversee AWS-based infrastructure supporting extremely high-throughput, low-latency systems, ensuring scalability and operational excellence.
  • Drive initiatives to improve system reliability, observability, deployment safety, incident response, and production readiness.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to reduce cloud infrastructure costs while improving performance and utilization efficiency.
  • Guide architecture and technical decisions for backend bidder systems where latency, throughput, and uptime are critical.
  • Lead incident response efforts, root cause analysis, and long-term reliability improvements while reducing operational toil.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to align infrastructure strategy with broader business and product objectives.
  • Requirements:

    • 6+ years of experience in backend engineering, DevOps, SRE, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems roles.
    • 1+ year of experience in technical leadership or engineering management, including mentoring or leading engineers.
    • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and operating production-grade cloud-native systems at scale.
    • Deep understanding of distributed systems concepts, including scaling, latency optimization, load balancing, and reliability engineering.
    • Experience working in environments where performance, cost efficiency, and uptime are tightly coupled business priorities.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, monitoring/observability tools, and incident management practices.
    • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams.
    • Ability to balance hands-on technical contribution with team leadership, planning, and delivery ownership.
    • Experience in high-scale, real-time systems (ad tech, bidding systems, or transactional platforms) is a plus.
    • Benefits:

      • Competitive salary range of $160,000–$190,000 depending on experience and location
      • Performance-based bonus and equity participation opportunities
      • Comprehensive healthcare coverage with employer contributions to HSA accounts
      • Strong 401(k) retirement savings plan
      • Fully remote-first working model with flexible work arrangements
      • Opportunity to work on large-scale, high-performance distributed systems
      • Professional growth in both technical leadership and engineering management
      • Inclusive and collaborative engineering culture focused on ownership and impact.
