Senior Consultant, FQHC Financial Advisory

This role offers the opportunity to support Federally Qualified Health Centers in strengthening their financial health, operational performance, and long-term sustainability. You will work closely with executive-level stakeholders to analyze financial operations, identify improvement opportunities, and implement data-driven strategies that enhance revenue cycle performance and cash flow. The position blends advisory consulting with hands-on financial transformation work across complex healthcare environments. You will contribute to improving access to care by helping mission-driven organizations operate more efficiently and effectively. The role is highly collaborative, requiring strong client engagement skills and the ability to translate financial insights into practical actions. It is ideal for a consultant who thrives in healthcare finance and enjoys working in dynamic, purpose-driven environments. You will also play a key role in guiding clients through change and modernization initiatives.
Accountabilities:
- Assess financial performance of FQHCs using KPIs, operational data, benchmarks, and industry standards to identify improvement opportunities.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize revenue cycle performance, cash flow management, budgeting, and overall financial operations.
- Provide subject-matter expertise in healthcare reimbursement systems, including Medicare and Medicaid payment models and PPS rate development.
- Partner with executive stakeholders such as CFOs, CEOs, and finance directors to deliver actionable insights and financial advisory support.
- Lead and support financial transformation and change management initiatives, ensuring clear communication and successful execution.
- Assist in the development of operational budgets and financial forecasts aligned with organizational goals.
- Configure and optimize financial systems, EHRs, and accounting platforms to improve reporting accuracy and compliance.
- Deliver practical, data-driven solutions to address operational gaps and improve financial outcomes.
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare finance, consulting, or financial advisory roles; FQHC experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of healthcare financial operations, reimbursement systems, budgeting, and revenue cycle management.
- Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement structures, including PPS methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams); experience with ERP/EHR systems such as Epic, NextGen, eClinicalWorks, Athena, Sage, MIP, or QuickBooks is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with experience engaging executive-level stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in remote and cross-functional team environments.
- Strong attention to detail, accountability, and commitment to delivering high-quality client outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Competitive base salary range: $80,000 – $108,000
