This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Operational Finance & Assurance (FP&A) Expert - AI Training & Evaluation based in the United States.

This role offers a unique opportunity to apply deep expertise in operational finance and FP&A to the development and evaluation of advanced AI systems. You will contribute to improving the accuracy, logic, and reliability of AI-generated financial analyses by reviewing complex outputs across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance management domains. Working in a fully remote and flexible environment, you will support short-term, high-impact projects that help shape next-generation financial reasoning models. The position is ideal for experienced finance professionals who enjoy analytical problem-solving and want to apply their expertise in an innovative, technology-driven context. You will collaborate with global teams to assess financial scenarios, identify inconsistencies, and enhance model performance. This is a short-term contract engagement designed to offer flexibility, exposure to AI systems, and supplemental income opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Create and review finance-related prompts, scenarios, and analytical tasks used for AI training and evaluation in operational finance and FP&A domains.
  • Evaluate AI-generated financial outputs for accuracy, consistency, and reasoning quality across budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance analysis.
  • Apply expertise in operational finance, financial planning, and assurance to assess calculations, assumptions, and business logic.
  • Identify errors, inconsistencies, and gaps in financial models and provide structured recommendations for improvement.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of AI financial reasoning systems through detailed feedback and domain expertise.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality standards, alignment, and timely delivery of assigned tasks.
  • Support continuous improvement of financial AI models by leveraging real-world FP&A experience.
  • Requirements

    This role requires strong operational finance expertise, analytical rigor, and the ability to evaluate structured financial outputs in a remote, detail-oriented environment.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Business, or a related field.
    • Minimum 4+ years of experience in FP&A, operational finance, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, or related disciplines.
    • Strong understanding of financial controls, variance analysis, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
    • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to clearly articulate financial reasoning in written English.
    • CFA, CPA, MBA, or similar professional qualifications preferred.
    • Experience reviewing financial reports, models, or analytical outputs is highly desirable.
    • Familiarity with AI, data annotation, or model evaluation projects is a plus.
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, project-based environment with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
