The Boeing CompanyBoeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Boeing South Carolina (BSC) Manufacturing Workforce Planning & Development Senior Manager (Level M) to lead a multi-site cross-functional team based in North Charleston, South Carolina. The role will also require occasional travel to our nearby Orangeburg, SC site.
You will drive the development and execution of a comprehensive BSC Workforce Planning and Development strategy & deliver Foundational Training and Production Certifications to hourly teammates across the 787 Program and Fabrication South Carolina (which encompasses Emergent Operations South Carolina (EOSC), Interiors Responsibility Center South Carolina (IRCSC), Cutting Tool Service Center - South Carolina (CTSC-SC), and Fabrication South Carolina Aerostructures (FSCA)).
Effective relationship building, business acumen and professional communication skills are essential in this senior leadership role.
Position Responsibilities:
Manage, lead, coach, develop, and inspire employees and managers
Collaborate and foster relationships with customers, stakeholders and direct reports
Drive the development and execution of a comprehensive BSC Workforce Planning and Development strategy
Deliver Foundational Training and Production Certifications to hourly teammates across 787 Program and Fabrication South Carolina (EOSC, IRCSC, CTSC-SC and FSCA)
Support hourly teammates through onboarding with Guided Skill Practices and upskilling existing hourly teammates through Skill Enhancement Centers
Partner with site leadership teams and local skill teams to have clear line of sight of staffing requirements to meet business goals
Align resources and manage budgets to ensure delivery of requirements efficiently and cost effectively
Collaborate with functional peers across BCA and the Enterprise to share and adopt, when appropriate, best practices
Drive continuous improvement activities across Workforce Planning and Development, integrating and partnering with other functions, such as Operations, Quality, Human Resources and Engineering
Lead large scale, complex operations and cross-functional teams
Possess and encourage others to have a mindset of Safety and First Pass Quality
Influence teams to exhibit Boeing Values and Behaviors
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
5+ years of experience leading, directing, or managing personnel
5+ years of experience leading or managing projects that involved cross-functional or cross-business unit teams
5+ years of experience leading large scale transformation and change initiatives in a global organization
Systems level thinking with the ability to implement change quickly and effectively across organizations
Embraces speed and agility to drive innovation and results, while maintaining consistent standards and balance
Experience leading through influence
Ability to work in matrix style organization
Ability to hold people accountable to organizational structure and system change
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor’s or advanced degree
Experience leading an organization focused on instruction, production certifications or upskilling teammates
Experience with manufacturing or engineering controlled processes & standards
5+ years of experience in workforce planning, people operations, or a related field
10+ years of experience demonstrating business, analytical, and problem-solving skills
10+ years of experience leading strategic process improvements / initiatives
Understanding of effective teamwork dynamics in order to attain higher levels of performance
Demonstrates a commitment to the mission & motivation to combine the team's energy and expertise to achieve a common objective
