This role sits at the heart of payment operations, ensuring the stability, accuracy, and efficiency of a high-volume healthcare payments ecosystem. You will act as the operational backbone for payment workflows, resolving escalations, supporting complex payment issues, and ensuring seamless coordination across Customer Success, Support, Implementation, and Product teams. The position blends hands-on problem-solving with structured operational ownership, covering everything from merchant rate reviews to system updates and exception handling. You will play a critical role in maintaining day-to-day continuity while also identifying recurring issues that drive long-term improvements. Working in a fast-paced SaaS environment, you will translate operational complexity into clear actions that keep payment systems running smoothly. This is a highly collaborative role where precision, responsiveness, and communication directly impact customer experience and financial operations.
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will own the operational health of payment workflows and ensure issues are resolved efficiently across teams and systems.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for payment-related issues raised by Customer Success, Support, and Implementation teams, ensuring timely triage and resolution
- Lead end-to-end merchant rate review processes, including data collection, analysis, coordination, and communication of outcomes
- Execute updates across payment systems and workflows while ensuring stakeholder alignment and awareness
- Resolve complex payment support cases requiring deep product, processor, or workflow expertise beyond standard support handling
- Manage ongoing operational tasks such as exception handling, process monitoring, and data quality maintenance
- Document escalation outcomes, operational decisions, and process exceptions to maintain accurate records and operational continuity
- Identify recurring issues and operational trends, escalating insights to leadership for broader process improvement
- Support onboarding, activation, and transition workflows between implementation and steady-state operations
Requirements:
This role requires strong operational expertise in payments or fintech environments, combined with excellent problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2–4 years of experience in payments operations, fintech, or SaaS customer operations
- Hands-on familiarity with payment systems, processors, and onboarding/activation workflows (experience with PaySimple or similar platforms is a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills with the ability to resolve complex operational issues
- Experience managing escalations or high-priority operational incidents with urgency and clarity
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM tools for case management and operational tracking
- Strong documentation habits and high attention to detail in managing operational records
- Excellent communication skills, able to simplify complex payment topics for diverse stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent operational issues without loss of accuracy or prioritization
- Collaborative, service-oriented mindset with strong cross-functional teamwork skills
