People Project Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a People Project Manager based in United States.

This role sits at the core of the People function, driving structure, clarity, and execution across high-impact HR initiatives that shape how the organization operates and grows. You will lead cross-functional programs that span multiple People pillars, ensuring alignment between strategy, execution, and adoption. The environment is fast-paced and highly collaborative, requiring strong judgment, adaptability, and the ability to bring order to complex and ambiguous challenges. You will act as a key connector across HR, Finance, Legal, Engineering, and leadership teams, ensuring initiatives are delivered with rigor and transparency. The role combines strategic project leadership with hands-on execution, from defining problems to delivering final recommendations. You will also play a critical role in strengthening governance, process discipline, and continuous improvement across the People organization. This is a high-visibility position for someone who enjoys driving impact through structured execution and cross-functional influence.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end People projects and programs, from problem definition through execution and final recommendations, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Design and implement detailed project plans, manage timelines, and optimize workflows to ensure efficient and transparent delivery.
  • Track project progress, identify risks early, and proactively implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders including HR, Legal, Finance, Engineering, and Leadership to drive alignment and execution.
  • Establish and maintain strong project governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with standards, best practices, and internal controls.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and materials for senior leadership and key stakeholders to support decision-making.
  • Foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and a culture of experimentation within the People organization.
  • Requirements:

    • 7+ years of experience in project management, business operations, strategy, or consulting, including at least 2+ years within an HR or People function.
    • Strong experience working across complex, cross-functional environments involving HR, Finance, Legal, Product, Tech, and executive stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to manage ambiguity and deliver results with a balance of urgency, structure, and thoughtful execution.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making and prioritization.
    • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex ideas to diverse audiences, including senior leadership.
    • Proficiency with project management tools such as Asana, Jira, Airtable, and familiarity with Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.
    • Strong ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and drive alignment across multiple teams and priorities.
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while maintaining high execution quality.
    • Preferred: experience with change management frameworks (e.g., ADKAR), HR systems (HCM, ATS, LMS, CRM), enablement program development, and AI productivity tools.
