VMS Program Manager

This role sits at the center of workforce technology operations, acting as the primary expert for Vendor Management System (VMS) platforms that support large-scale contingent workforce programs. The position is responsible for ensuring that VMS environments are properly configured, integrated, and continuously optimized to meet evolving client needs. It combines technical system ownership with client-facing collaboration, requiring close coordination across operations, IT, client success, and external vendors. The role has a direct impact on program performance by ensuring data integrity, workflow efficiency, and platform reliability. It also plays a key part in onboarding new clients, scaling programs, and improving system capabilities over time. This is a highly cross-functional role in a fast-paced, solution-oriented environment focused on workforce technology excellence.
Accountabilities:
This role is responsible for end-to-end ownership of VMS platform operations, ensuring systems are configured correctly, integrations function smoothly, and client workforce programs run efficiently across all phases of the lifecycle. It requires both technical administration and client engagement to support scalable and reliable program delivery.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert and escalation point for all VMS-related activities across assigned client programs
- Lead VMS configuration, implementation, onboarding, and ongoing optimization aligned with workforce program requirements
- Manage system administration tasks including workflows, user roles, permissions, business rules, and platform configurations
- Oversee integrations between VMS platforms and external/internal systems such as ATS, HRIS, payroll, and ERP tools
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolution with IT teams and VMS vendors
- Translate workforce program needs into effective system design in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- Develop dashboards, reports, and documentation to support operational visibility and leadership decision-making
- Support platform enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives across client environments
- 3–7+ years of experience working with Vendor Management Systems in MSP, staffing, or contingent workforce environments
- Hands-on experience configuring or administering VMS platforms in production environments
- Strong understanding of contingent workforce models, supplier management, and workforce program operations
- Experience with system integrations across workforce or HR technologies such as ATS, HRIS, payroll, or ERP systems
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate effectively with IT and engineering teams
- Strong client management skills with experience leading external stakeholder discussions
- Ability to translate technical system concepts into clear business solutions for non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration skills
