Customer Development Manager - Amazon

This role sits at the center of eCommerce growth strategy, driving performance across key Amazon business for leading health and wellness brands. The Customer Development Manager will own revenue, profitability, and category expansion initiatives across a fast-moving digital retail environment. You will work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to shape and execute data-driven commercial plans. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution, requiring strong ownership of Amazon 1P performance and promotional effectiveness. You will identify growth opportunities, translate insights into action, and ensure flawless execution of customer and brand priorities. This is a high-visibility position with direct impact on digital shelf performance, brand presence, and overall online market share.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic Amazon business plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and category growth targets across assigned brands.
- Identify emerging market trends, growth opportunities, and competitive insights, translating them into actionable recommendations for Ecommerce leadership.
- Manage day-to-day Amazon account operations, including product assortment, pricing, promotions, and content execution aligned with customer objectives.
- Oversee trade spend, forecasting, budget management, and financial tracking to ensure optimal investment and performance outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with internal cross-functional teams (digital marketing, creative, finance, supply chain) to ensure seamless execution of campaigns and launches.
- Lead customer presentations and partner engagement discussions covering innovations, promotional strategies, and business performance updates.
- Support new product launches and ensure strong alignment across planning, execution, and post-launch performance tracking.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred; MBA is a plus.
- 5+ years of consumer products or CPG sales experience, with at least 3 years focused on Amazon eCommerce (1P experience strongly preferred).
- Proven track record of driving sales growth, managing Amazon accounts, and executing pricing and promotional strategies in a competitive digital environment.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, trade funds, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, with experience working across internal teams and external partners.
- Highly analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify insights, and translate them into business actions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver clear, persuasive presentations and influence decision-making.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams) and strong operational execution skills.
- Competitive salary range of $130,000 to $150,000, depending on experience and location.
