Cloud Security Engineer

This role sits at the core of securing large-scale cloud infrastructure supporting modern digital financial systems, ensuring resilience, compliance, and protection across critical environments. You will design and strengthen security controls across AWS and GCP, embedding best practices into infrastructure and Kubernetes deployments. The position combines hands-on engineering with strategic security leadership, including threat modeling, incident response, and automation of security controls. You will play a key role in shaping how cloud security is implemented across the organization, from identity and access management to continuous monitoring and vulnerability remediation. Working closely with infrastructure and engineering teams, you will help integrate security throughout the development lifecycle. The environment is fast-paced, highly technical, and deeply collaborative, with a strong focus on innovation and continuous improvement. This is a remote/hybrid opportunity for a security professional passionate about cloud-native architectures and scalable protection systems.
Accountabilities:
- Perform threat modeling for new infrastructure, architectural changes, and Kubernetes deployments across AWS and GCP environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud configurations and security controls across multi-cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform to ensure secure and scalable deployments.
- Build and enhance cloud security monitoring and alerting using DataDog, including custom detections and response workflows.
- Implement and manage Just-in-Time (JIT) access solutions and Identity & Access Management (IAM) controls.
- Establish and lead cloud incident response processes, including coordination and mitigation of security incidents.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and drive remediation efforts across cloud environments.
- Collaborate with engineering and infrastructure teams to embed security best practices throughout the lifecycle.
- Research emerging cloud threats and develop mitigation strategies and security standards.
- Maintain documentation of cloud security architectures, processes, and policies to ensure consistency and knowledge sharing.
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory security evidence requests.
- Deliver training and awareness programs to strengthen security practices across engineering teams.
- Extensive experience in Cloud Security engineering with strong expertise in AWS and GCP.
- Deep understanding of threat modeling methodologies and secure cloud architecture design.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
- Strong experience with cloud security monitoring tools such as DataDog, including alerting and detection engineering.
- Proven ability to design and manage IAM frameworks and Just-in-Time (JIT) access solutions.
- Experience leading cloud incident response processes and managing security events end-to-end.
- Strong understanding of vulnerability management and remediation in cloud environments.
- Ability to communicate complex security concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to create clear security standards and procedures.
- Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote-first environment.
- Scripting or programming experience (Python, Go, JavaScript, or similar) is a plus.
- Familiarity with cryptography, compliance frameworks, or certifications (AWS, GCP, SANS) is a plus.
- Experience in fintech, SaaS, or crypto environments is highly valued.
