Job Description Summary
As the Region Customs Operations Leader, you will be responsible for developing and driving regional Customs operations strategy, operating model, and governance for the supported businesses.You will lead regional team in the execution of import and export Customs operations, shaping priorities, performance, risk management, and ways of working.
The Customs Operations department is a team of experts delivering import and export operations management for supported businesses by driving execution of the Customs processes and GE Vernova policies.
Job Description
What you’ll do
- Develop and drive strategy including operating model design, governance, and priority setting
- Govern service performance; drive root-cause resolution; ensure effective clearance execution
- Influence regional Customs decisions, operating practices, and risk mitigation
- Identify and lead regional improvement opportunities
- Lead customs compliance and broker control activities to strengthen governance and discipline
- Represent Customs operations in business and broker QBRs; influence action plans
- Own and coordinate responses to requests, audits, and investigations
- Oversee Post-Entry customs activities as part of regional governance
- Ensure capability and readiness through trained personnel and role coverage
- Support training, compliance, and EHS requirements
- Manage regional Customs authority relationships and government stakeholders
- Own and report regional metrics and use results to drive action
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with major experience in customs processes
- Wing to wing expertise across customs processes
- Fluent in English (verbal and written) – Hungarian and French languages are a plus
- Strong regional People Leader Experience
- Ability to travel with region and occasionally globally
