Supply Chain Specialist II – Operations & Inventory Analytics

Role Overview

The Supply Chain Specialist II – Operations & Inventory Analytics supports Supply Chain projects focused on improving operational visibility, inventory performance, and data-driven decision-making across multiple production plants. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the development and maintenance of a centralized platform that consolidates operational and inventory metrics into one reliable, scalable, and user-friendly reporting tool.

This role partners with Supply Chain, Operations, Planning, Inventory, Procurement, Finance, IT, and Data/Analytics teams to gather requirements, consolidate information from different data sources, validate metric definitions, and deliver actionable insights. The position requires strong understanding of Supply Chain and manufacturing metrics, hands-on experience with data tools, and the ability to leverage automation and AI-enabled technologies to improve reporting efficiency and process effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of a centralized platform for tracking operational and inventory metrics across production plants.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements, define reporting needs, and translate them into dashboards, reports, and analytical outputs.
  • Collect, consolidate, clean, and validate data from multiple sources, including ERP systems, planning tools, databases, spreadsheets, dashboards, and plant reports.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, trackers, and automated reporting solutions using tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, R, or similar platforms.
  • Support the definition and documentation of key Supply Chain, operations, and inventory metrics, including calculation logic, data sources, ownership, frequency, and business interpretation.
  • Analyze inventory, operational, service, planning, material availability, and plant performance metrics to identify trends, risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure reporting consistency and data accuracy across plants, functions, and business units.
  • Troubleshoot data issues, reporting inconsistencies, and process gaps in partnership with business users, data owners, IT, and analytics teams.
  • Identify manual reporting activities and repetitive data processes that can be improved through automation.
  • Leverage automation tools, low-code/no-code solutions, and AI-enabled technologies such as Codex, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar tools to improve reporting speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives related to Supply Chain reporting, inventory visibility, process standardization, and data quality.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and insights for business reviews, governance meetings, project updates, and leadership discussions.
  • Train and support end users in the use of dashboards, reports, metrics, and standardized reporting processes.
  • Communicate insights, risks, data issues, and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in Supply Chain, operations, inventory management, planning, business analytics, reporting, project support, or related functions.
  • Experience supporting Supply Chain or operations projects, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of Supply Chain, operations, and inventory metrics, including their calculation, interpretation, and impact on business performance.
  • Experience working with multiple data sources, including ERP systems, planning tools, spreadsheets, databases, dashboards, and manual reports.
  • Hands-on experience with data management, analysis, reporting, and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, SQL, Tableau, Alteryx, R, or similar platforms.
  • Strong Excel skills required; Power Query, pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data transformation experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, AI-enabled platforms, or coding assistants such as Codex, Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar technologies.
  • Ability to clean, consolidate, validate, analyze, and interpret data from different systems and formats.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • English proficiency at B2 level or higher preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a manufacturing, production, or multinational business environment.
  • Knowledge of SAP, ERP systems, planning systems, inventory systems, or enterprise reporting platforms.
  • Experience developing or supporting dashboards, scorecards, trackers, or centralized reporting platforms.
  • Experience with inventory analytics, operational performance metrics, supply planning metrics, or plant-level KPI reporting.
  • Exposure to SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx, R, Python, or other data analytics tools.
  • Familiarity with data governance, master data management, metric standardization, and reporting documentation.
  • Experience using automation, low-code/no-code tools, or AI-enabled technologies to improve reporting and process efficiency.
  • Lean Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM, Power BI, SQL, Data Analytics, or related certification is a plus.
