Data Center Strategic Sourcing Lead

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Center Strategic Sourcing Lead based in the United States.

You will play a critical role in shaping and executing global sourcing strategies for large-scale data center infrastructure supporting next-generation AI systems.
This position sits at the intersection of procurement, supply chain strategy, and technical infrastructure planning, with direct impact on the availability of compute, networking, and connectivity resources.
You will lead end-to-end sourcing for high-value IT hardware such as servers, networking equipment, and fiber infrastructure in constrained global markets.
Your work will directly enable the scaling of advanced AI systems by ensuring reliable access to critical data center components.
You will collaborate closely with engineering, finance, and external vendors to translate technical roadmaps into resilient procurement strategies.
This is a high-ownership role where commercial negotiation, forecasting, and supply chain resilience are essential to operational success.
You will also help build global inventory and logistics strategies that reduce delays and improve infrastructure readiness.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing strategies for critical data center infrastructure including compute hardware, networking equipment, fiber, and related IT systems.
  • Drive commercial negotiations, master service agreements, and vendor contracts to ensure favorable terms and long-term supply stability.
  • Develop and execute global procurement and inventory strategies, including warehousing, logistics, buffer stock, and distribution planning.
  • Partner with engineering and demand planning teams to translate technical roadmaps into accurate hardware forecasts and procurement pipelines.
  • Monitor global supply chain risks and constraints, proactively developing contingency plans to mitigate delays and shortages.
  • Optimize cost efficiency of large-scale infrastructure spend while maintaining performance, reliability, and availability requirements.
  • Establish vendor management frameworks, including warranty tracking, RMA processes, and performance evaluation of suppliers.
  • Ensure third-party partners and data center providers comply with technical specifications and contractual procurement requirements.
  • Requirements:

    • 7+ years of experience in supply chain management, strategic sourcing, procurement, or infrastructure supply chain roles.
    • Strong experience with data center hardware such as servers, switches, routers, fiber, PDUs, and related infrastructure components.
    • Proven ability to develop forecasting, demand planning, and procurement strategies for large-scale infrastructure deployments.
    • Experience negotiating complex vendor agreements, including MSAs, pricing structures, and long-term supply contracts.
    • Strong understanding of global logistics, inventory management, and supply chain risk mitigation strategies.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, translating engineering requirements into procurement execution plans.
    • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
    • Experience in data center construction, hyperscale infrastructure, or high-performance computing environments is a strong plus.
