At Moog Aircraft Group, we’re looking for a Manual Cylindrical Grinder to join our team in Wolverhampton.

This is proper precision work not production grinding. You’ll be working on high-spec aerospace components, where accuracy matters and the quality of your work has a real impact.

Once fully trained, you’ll move onto a shift pattern and play a key role in keeping standards high across the shop floor.

As a Manual Cylindrical Grinder, you will:

  • Set and operate manual cylindrical grinding machines (S20/RM2500)

  • Grind to very tight tolerances (down to 0.00005”)

  • Work from engineering drawings to achieve exact specifications

  • Support flow plotting activities including: understanding fluid flow paths and behaviour, map and check flow routes and pressure profiles, consider thermal expansion and geometric constraints

  • Grind components to ensure correct flow distribution and performance

  • Carry out work that meets strict aerospace quality standards

To be considered for this role, here's what you'll typically bring:

  • Time-served apprentice (essential)

  • 10+ years’ experience setting and operating manual cylindrical grinders

  • Strong background in precision grinding to tight tolerances

  • Confident reading drawings and working to spec

  • Reliable, hands-on, and takes ownership of their work

It would be preferred if you had:

  • Experience in flow plotting or working with fluid-related components

  • Understanding of fluid dynamics, pressure profiles, and flow behaviour

  • Experience ensuring consistent flow through precision grinding

  • Mate grinding experience

Security Clearance
Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role.
