Job Description
The Payroll Tax Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring the organization maintains compliance and accuracy in all payroll tax functions. This position is responsible for investigating and responding to tax authority inquiries and notices in a timely manner.
Responsibilities include:
Handle escalation in the resolution of tax notices and discrepancies referred by federal, state, and local agencies in a timely manner to mitigate potential penalties and interest
Review and resolve payroll tax error
Ability to analyze and calculate retroactive tax, gross to net calculations including tax withholding
Process W-2 Corrections and Reissues in accordance with IRS Regulation
Timely handle and resolve issues including handling employee escalations, perform and document root cause analysis. and recommend remedial procedures to close gaps identified.
Resolve employee tax data issues including tax data integrity assurance activities
Provide problem resolution support for tax related issues
Perform controls to ensure compliance with internal controls and governing federal and state laws. Assist team in researching complex tax issues as needed.
Provide payroll tax-related support for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures
Perform quarterly and annual tax balancing activities
Manages payroll tax related special projects required for process improvements and/or implementation of new processes
Additional duties as required
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications:
3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD
Bachelor’s Degree (B. A.) or equivalent, 5- 7 years Payroll Tax experience
Knowledge of multi-state and multi-5 payroll tax laws, Canada knowledge preferred
Tax analyst experience including multistate, localities and reciprocity
Strong attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills

The estimated salary range for this position is $73,400.00 to $ 113,600.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
