Senior Certified Social Compliance Auditor (CSCA)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Certified Social Compliance Auditor (CSCA) based in the United States.

This role is a senior field-based auditing position focused on evaluating social compliance standards across global supply chains, ensuring adherence to internationally recognized codes of conduct and certification frameworks. The Senior CSCA plays a key role in conducting third-party audits, assessing workplace practices, and determining compliance against established social responsibility and ethical sourcing standards. You will lead and support audit teams while ensuring high-quality, consistent, and objective audit outcomes. The position requires strong judgment in interpreting audit evidence and making certification recommendations based on rigorous evaluation. Operating in a highly mobile and international environment, you will engage directly with client sites across diverse industries. This role combines technical auditing expertise with leadership responsibilities and significant global travel. Your work directly contributes to improving labor practices, transparency, and ethical standards in global supply chains.

Accountabilities:

  • Conduct third-party social compliance audits in accordance with CSCA, SMETA, and related certification standards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Lead or oversee audit teams during on-site assessments, including planning, execution, and coordination of audit activities.
  • Collect, evaluate, and analyze audit evidence to determine compliance status and make certification recommendations.
  • Ensure adherence to SGS certification systems, internal procedures, and accreditation requirements throughout all audit engagements.
  • Maintain professional auditor qualifications and actively participate in witness audits and accreditation assessments.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including technical and accreditation teams, to support continuous improvement of audit processes.
  • Support training and mentoring of other auditors and contribute to knowledge sharing within audit teams.
  • Ensure high-quality client audit experiences while maintaining objectivity, independence, and regulatory compliance.
  • Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in science, food, or related field.
    • APSCA certification with minimum RA status (CSCA required).
    • Minimum 5+ years of experience in the food/agri or related industry, including at least 2 years in social compliance, safety, quality, or environmental auditing.
    • At least 3 years of auditing experience, including qualification as a lead certification auditor and minimum 2 years in social auditing.
    • Strong knowledge of social compliance frameworks, including SMETA and SEDEX standards.
    • Proven ability to lead audit teams and manage complex, multi-site audit assignments.
    • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills with high attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with clients and stakeholders.
    • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% internationally and domestically, including extended trips.
    • Experience in training or mentoring auditors is considered a strong advantage.
