Senior Software Engineer, Platform

This is a high-impact platform engineering role focused on building and evolving the core infrastructure that powers large-scale, cloud-native data systems. You will help design, build, test, and operate the foundational platform used to run mission-critical data and analytics products at global scale. Working in a highly collaborative R&D environment, you will contribute to the reliability, performance, and scalability of systems that support complex data orchestration and workflow execution. This role sits at the intersection of infrastructure, reliability engineering, and developer experience, with direct influence on how production systems are deployed and operated. You will be part of a team that thrives on solving deep technical challenges in distributed systems and cloud platforms. The environment is fast-moving and highly ownership-driven, where engineers are expected to make decisions, ship safely in production, and continuously improve platform reliability. Accountabilities:
- Design, build, and evolve core platform infrastructure supporting large-scale cloud-native data and analytics systems
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and deployment systems in a high-scale PaaS environment
- Collaborate across engineering teams to define system architecture, technical standards, and platform strategy
- Contribute to reliability engineering practices including incident response, monitoring, and operational excellence
- Develop and maintain observability systems including SLIs, SLOs, and performance tracking frameworks
- Participate in architectural decision-making and ensure scalable, secure, and resilient system design
- Improve engineering efficiency by reducing operational toil through automation and tooling
- Create clear internal documentation to support platform usability, consistency, and knowledge sharing
- Support on-call rotations and ensure platform stability across global production environments
- Strong experience in distributed systems design and implementation
- Proficiency in Python and/or Golang with deep experience in Kubernetes (CKA or equivalent preferred)
- Strong background in cloud-native infrastructure, CI/CD systems, and automation practices
- Experience with observability tooling and defining SLIs/SLOs for production systems
- Solid understanding of software engineering best practices including testing, code review, version control, and debugging
- Experience working in high-scale production environments with a focus on reliability and operational excellence
- Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with globally distributed engineering teams
- Ability to take ownership, estimate technical scope, manage risks, and deliver complex projects end-to-end
- Bonus: experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and SaaS/PaaS systems at scale
- Bonus: familiarity with tools such as CircleCI, Splunk, Prometheus/Chronosphere, Istio, Bazel, or Kubernetes ecosystem tools
