This role sits at the core of a large-scale, high-traffic digital platform used by millions of users across Europe, where reliability, performance, and security are critical. You will contribute to the design, evolution, and optimization of cloud infrastructure on AWS, helping build scalable and resilient platform capabilities. Working within a highly skilled engineering environment, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, and product teams to deliver impactful infrastructure improvements. The role blends hands-on cloud engineering with automation, CI/CD optimization, and platform reliability initiatives. Accountabilities:
The Senior Platform Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and improving cloud infrastructure and platform services to ensure scalability, security, and operational excellence.
- Deliver infrastructure improvements and platform enhancements across AWS environments.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform, following established standards and modular patterns.
- Design secure, scalable cloud architectures aligned with AWS best practices and least-privilege principles.
- Develop automation and tooling using Node.js or Python to improve platform efficiency.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, including deployment, testing, validation, and release processes.
- Collaborate with engineering leaders and cross-functional teams to deliver technical initiatives.
- Identify risks, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve complex infrastructure challenges.
- Contribute to platform reliability, observability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
This role requires strong AWS expertise combined with deep experience in infrastructure-as-code, automation, and modern cloud engineering practices.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS services such as ECS, Lambda, IAM, CloudFront, and related technologies.
- Proven experience designing and managing infrastructure using Terraform in production environments.
- Solid understanding of AWS security principles, operational excellence, and scalable architecture design.
- Experience developing automation and scripts using Node.js or Python.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code workflows.
- Ability to work independently and deliver complex engineering solutions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in agile, cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable using AI-assisted engineering tools to enhance productivity and delivery quality.
- Strong English proficiency (written and spoken).
