Systems Administrator, Senior

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing large-scale hybrid and cloud infrastructure environments that support globally distributed systems.
This role involves working across leading cloud platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of mission-critical services.
You will play a key role in automating infrastructure operations and improving system reliability through modern DevOps practices.
The position requires strong expertise in troubleshooting complex issues across Linux/Unix systems, networks, and cloud services.
You will also contribute to observability and monitoring strategies to proactively detect and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Collaboration with global engineering teams is essential, especially in a 24x7 operational environment.
Overall, this is a high-impact role focused on scalability, reliability, and continuous infrastructure improvement.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure across platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP, including compute, storage, networking, and security configurations.
  • Implement and maintain IAM policies, network security rules, and cloud governance standards to ensure secure and compliant environments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, scaling, and configuration using Terraform, Ansible, and scripting languages such as Bash or Python.
  • Monitor system health and performance using tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, and cloud-native observability platforms, proactively resolving issues.
  • Perform Linux/Unix system administration tasks including patching, maintenance, and troubleshooting of OS, hardware, and database issues.
  • Support incident management processes, ensuring SLA adherence and conducting root cause analysis for recurring or critical issues.
  • Manage databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, along with web servers like Apache and Nginx, ensuring stability and performance.
  • Collaborate with global teams in a 24x7 environment, ensuring smooth handovers and continuous service availability.
  • Requirements:

    • 6+ years of experience in systems administration or hybrid infrastructure management roles in enterprise environments.
    • Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
    • Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems, including troubleshooting, file systems, performance tuning, and system tools.
    • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform and configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
    • Proficiency in monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Zabbix, or similar solutions.
    • Strong networking knowledge including DNS, HTTP, TCP/UDP, and OSI model fundamentals.
    • Experience with scripting in Bash, Python, or Ruby for automation and operational tasks.
    • Familiarity with database administration (MySQL, PostgreSQL) including backup and recovery processes.
    • Understanding of web infrastructure technologies such as Nginx, Varnish, and DDoS mitigation strategies.
    • Strong analytical mindset with excellent troubleshooting, incident management, and communication skills.
    • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or related field; relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, OCI) are a plus.
    • Ability to work in a 24x7 operational environment with shift rotations.
