This is a high-impact engineering leadership role focused on delivering environmental, health, and safety (EHS) capital projects across multiple manufacturing sites. You will oversee initiatives from early identification through execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Acting as a key connector between EHS, engineering, operations, and external contractors, you will drive compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across facilities. The role requires strong technical expertise in manufacturing and construction environments, combined with excellent project management and stakeholder coordination skills. You will be responsible for managing capital improvement plans, tracking financial performance, and ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal EHS standards. Accountabilities
- Lead the development and execution of EHS capital improvement projects across multiple manufacturing sites, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
- Oversee project lifecycle activities from identification and planning through implementation, contractor coordination, and final execution.
- Ensure compliance with management of change processes, building codes, safety regulations, permits, and contractor safety requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for property insurance coordination, audit findings, and risk mitigation efforts.
- Partner with EHS teams to design and implement capital programs that enhance safety performance and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain detailed project tracking dashboards and lead regular status updates with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership teams.
- Manage capital expenditure planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for assigned projects.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors, manage purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery of project components.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks while escalating issues as needed to ensure successful delivery.
- Provide hands-on project support in manufacturing environments when required to address resource gaps or execution challenges.
- Continuously improve project management practices, tools, and processes based on lessons learned and operational feedback.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, chemical operations, facilities management, or construction project environments.
- Strong background in project management, capital project execution, and cross-functional coordination.
- Experience managing projects ranging from $10K to $1M, with exposure to annual portfolios up to $5M.
- Solid understanding of EHS principles, building codes, permitting processes, and contractor safety requirements.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, analyze project costs, and report financial performance.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, finance, supply chain, suppliers, and manufacturing teams.
- Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to work directly in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Proven ability to identify risks, solve problems, and drive projects to completion with accountability and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with project management tools and engineering software.
