Underwriting Support Assistant

This role offers an entry-level opportunity to support insurance underwriting operations in a structured, data-driven environment. You will assist in processing and validating information used in property and casualty insurance workflows, helping ensure accuracy and completeness of underwriting documentation. The position involves working with multiple client systems and handling varied administrative and analytical tasks, from data entry to document preparation. You will also contribute to improving data quality by organizing, standardizing, and verifying key information. The environment is remote, fast-paced, and detail-oriented, with comprehensive training provided to support success. It is well suited for candidates who are analytical, organized, and eager to build experience in insurance operations and data processing.
Accountabilities:
- Enter and validate policyholder and insurance-related data into client systems with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
- Review, verify, and compile underwriting documentation to ensure completeness and correct formatting of policy files.
- Work with Excel to sort, filter, and standardize datasets related to insurance factors such as addresses, payroll, or vehicle information.
- Use advanced Excel functions (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) to clean, structure, and analyze data for underwriting support.
- Convert and manage documents across formats (Word, PDF, Excel) while maintaining data integrity.
- Conduct basic research using online tools and mapping systems to verify business and location details.
- Support multilingual document handling through translation tools when needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams and adapt to multiple systems and workflows simultaneously.
- High school diploma required; prior administrative or data entry experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including familiarity with formulas, pivot tables, and data cleaning functions.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Adobe, and online research tools such as Google Maps.
- High attention to detail with strong accuracy in data handling and documentation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good decision-making and problem-solving abilities in a structured, process-driven environment.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with reliable high-speed internet.
- Strong communication skills and adaptability to different systems and workflows.
